I was not familiar with the Romero Box before reading this book, but it is built on several familiar principles.
The gimmick no longer appears on any of the online magic stores I checked, but is apparently still available from the creator's official site.
It is not inexpensive, but I suspect it would be difficult to build at home because of some of the mechanics involved, so the price might be justified.
The Romero Box has some clever features that allow for a variety of effects.
The book itself is filled with a large number of excellent tricks, many of which could be adapted to other methods, so it is a worthwhile read even for those who don't own the gimmick.

I got started in magic back in 1975 when a magic shop opened in a nearby city, I have done close-up magic for over 30 years and have seen lots of new magic created the Romero box is something I will use it has lots of possibilities. I have been making my own gimmick boxes for a while now but never one like the Romero Box. Switching, vanishing, and producing cards has always been what I want to do. If you are knowledgeable in magic you can build this. It's not hard. I have been making two of the box gimmicks this is basically the same except the gimmick is inside he shows a couple of pictures of the gimmick at the end so you would know where to put the magnets. I'm going to get started building one now, I have a few ideas to use with this. I give it 5 stars.

This eBook describes how to build the gimmicked box, but also includes other designs and variations. This is a very useful utility device for any card worker. But then, Mr. Romero outdoes himself as he and his friends present some 50 effects of such variety that you are sure to be drawn to at least a few. If you aren't handy and prefer to purchase the gimmick, his website is listed. Give this some serious consideration.

What an excellent routine! Extremely visual and the DVD explains it all thoroughly - even though there is English voice over, it is very easy to follow along. Great price as well. I have seen Paul Daniel's chop cup routine as well as a live performance by Mr. Paul Gertner that used steel ball bearings for the balls. Both of those routines are amazing. This one is right up there as one of my favorites and I cannot wait to be able to perform this. You won't be disappointed with this one!
