The magician shows an ungimmicked deck of cards and lets the spectator shuffle them, if he so desires. A card is then freely selected using no force and pushed back into the middle of the deck. The magician then cuts the deck and deals the top five cards in a face down horizontal row in front of the spectator.
The magician then shows a dollar bill and says "A lot of people don't know this, but George Washington is also a magician and I think he can find your card!" The magician says this tongue-in-cheek.
With the front of the bill facing the spectator and being held over the first face down card, the magician asks George if he thinks this is the selected card. Amazingly, the spectator sees a frown form on George's face. This is repeated with the next two cards. Each time George frowns.
The magician holds the bill over the fourth card, only this time; the spectator sees a big smile on George's face. The magician says this may be the selected card, but to double check he will hold the bill over the fifth card. Again George frowns.
The magician points out that George frowned on four cards, but smiled on one of them. He asked the spectator what was his selected card that George smiled on, believe it or not, it is the selected card!
George Washington was indeed a magician. This is accomplished with a regular dollar bill that hasn't been gimmicked or cut in any way. No gimmicks and nothing neither added nor taken away. 100% impromptu. Complete details on every aspect of this effect.
