Tom Ogden
(Phoenixville, Pennsylvania: 12th November 1951 - )
Inspired by Mark Wilson's TV show at age 12. Learned vent from teacher and magic from library books. Pro comedy close-up and stage since 1973, first for a few years as a circus magician. Pet effect: Sword thru Neck. Taught magic groups in 1970s. Moved in 1982 to Hollywood where he also occasionally appears as TV actor. AMA Parlour Magician of the Year 1984, 1985.
Has marketed several original effects, including Carnival Cards and Stripped Poker. Co-author (with Walt Hudson) of A Volunteer from the Audience. 4 lecture notes. Wrote Two Hundred Years of the American Circus (1993, 402pp) and Wizards and Sorcerers (1997, 246pp). Columns in MUM, Magic Manuscript, and Genii. Articles in Apocalypse, Top Hat, etc.
