Here's What I Say: My Patter for Some Well-Known Tricks by Scott F. Guinn

"Scott's work reminds me of the magic I loved from late masters like Tommy Wonder or Fred Kaps and I sometimes found the scripts possibly superior to such masters." - Etienne Lorenceau

"I am also a big fan of your scripts." - Floyd Collins

Excerpt from the introduction:

Within the pages of this ebook you will not find explanations for new tricks. You won't even find explanations for old tricks. What you will find are presentations for a number of standard tricks or plots (what magicians sometimes call "patter"), as well as a few ideas on how to present some things in a way that has worked well for me. I have been performing for a long time now. Magicians are rarely overly impressed with my technical skill. However, I often get positive feedback about my presentations, and I've had a number of requests to put together a book of patter - of what I say while performing. This is that book.

Many of the presentations herein are for very basic (some would say "beginner-level") effects. That is intentional. I don't want this just to be a "script book", where you take the presentations word-for-word and line-by-line (although you certainly have my permission to do just that). It is my hope that these patter lines will be a springboard; a starting point that inspires you to come up with your own ideas for your performing repertoire.

In this ebook, Scott shares scripts and hints from his real-world professional performances of the following tricks:

  • Jumping Rubber Band
  • Coin through Handkerchief
  • Ring & Spring
  • Hot Rod
  • The Haunted Pack
  • Gypsy Thread
  • Crazy Man's Handcuffs
  • Matrix
  • Magic Switchboard
