Learned magic in 1945 buying tricks from Len Allen at Hamley's. Pro close-up cabaret magician since 1953. Popularized magic on radio in Britain with over 200 broadcasts for BBC alone. Did shipboard magic on 22 crossings on QE II 1972-74. Devised, wrote, and presented "The Music of Magic" BBC radio show 1990, featuring the BBC Concert Orchestra performing music associated with magic. Now working magic into the "Nutcracker" for the Royal Birmingham Ballet. Popular MC.
Columnist for Abra since 1981. Articles in Abra, Magigram, MUM, etc. Wrote Do Get the Name Right (13pp, for MCs) and Radio Magic (1983, 7pp). 2 TV series, co-host with Paul Daniels and Terry Seabrooke of the two For My Next Trick TV shows, plus many TV bits.
