(Sapulpa, Oklahoma Territory [now Oklahoma]: 19th March 1905 - 11th January 1979)
Inspired at age 7 seeing Ten Ichi and at age 12 seeing vaude comedy magi Hugh Johnson and Walter Baker. Pro from age 15 with minstrel show as "Cambello, the Clown Magician" and since age 18 with a Chinese act. Thence into vaude. A star of Lyceum (since 1925) and Chautauqua (since 1926). Aka "The Great Alexander". Worked in Abbott's LA shop since 1948. Retired in 1955. 1978 AMA Special Fellowship. SAM Hall of Fame.
