Total Recall Meets Shufflebored by Dustin Marks

This is a combination of Shufflebored and Joshua Jay's Total Recall effect. Think Shufflebored with no setup and the spectators shuffle the cards. There is only one minor sleight, if you can call it a sleight, and no setup. There is some easy memory work. The reset is instant, and the deck is clean. The prediction AH card has three other predictions.

New: A timeline of the events is included making it quicker and easier to learn the effect.

Two .jpgs of the prediction AH card are included, front and back. You can print it on a blank playing card, index card etc.

Q1: What is the effect of Total Recall Meets Shufflebored?

A: The magician makes multiple predictions about a deck of cards that has been fairly shuffled by spectators. These predictions include the number of face-down cards, the number of red cards among them, and the specific Hearts. The climax is the reveal of a sealed prediction that matches the highest red card, the Ace of Hearts, previously set aside by a spectator.

Q2: How difficult is this trick to perform?

A: The trick involves only one minor sleight and relies primarily on memory work. The effect is easy to perform once mastered, with no setups or gimmicked decks.

Q3: What preparation is needed before performing the trick?

A: The only preparation is a one-time creation of a "corner short" Ace of Hearts card. This means slightly rounding two opposite corners of the card, making it identifiable by touch. A simple corner cutter tool can be used or nail clippers.

Q4: What role does the corner-shorted Ace of Hearts play in the trick?

A: It allows the magician to secretly track and control its position within the deck during the shuffling process. The spectator will choose it as the highest red card among the face-down cards setting it on the table. It matches the prediction in the envelope.

Q5: How does the magician make the predictions?

A: The magician subtly counts the number of red cards and Hearts in the target packet as he shows how the cards are face up and face down to the spectators. This information is memorized and later revealed as predictions.

Q6: How are the spectators involved in the trick?

A: Spectators actively participate by shuffling the cards, making the outcome appear genuinely random. They choose which packet is turned face up and shuffled with a face-down packet.
