Dr. Saram R. Ellison was a Canadian, born in 1852, but he lived most of his life in New York. He was one of the co-founders of the Society of American Magicians and had the member number 1. He was an avid collector of magic books and apparatus. At one time, he had the most important magic book library, which he donated to the New York Public Library.

This ebook is a biographical sketch of Dr. Ellison and his magic collection, including some photos and letters he received from prominent magicians.
