Glastion

Nefesch
Glastion by Nefesch... with it. The magician then shows the glass bottle around on all sides and removes any large labels so you can see right through the bottle. Then the rubber bands are given back to the magician and the spectator holds the deck ready to throw it at the bottle. The magician holds the bottle with one hand on top of the bottle and one hand at the bottom. The spectator then throws the cards at the bottle and the magician 'catches' one of the cards IN THE BOTTLE! Inside the bottle the signed selection is immediately seen swirling around, the bottle still being sealed, of course!

Quicker Than The Eye

John Mulholland
Quicker Than The Eye by John Mulholland

This is a wonderfully readable and fascinating description of magic and its history. Written by one of the scholars of magic - John Mulholland. Ben Robinson, the expert on John Mulholland whom he researched for more than 30 years, writes in his introduction to this ebook:

"Quicker Than The Eye was John Mulholland's second book, and the first under solely his own name. It is a tale of adventure and creativity. The pages abound with names, dates, and thrilling stories of the great names in stage conjuring. It is an almost anecdotal history told in an easy-going, very readable style. Professionals today,...

SYN

Dee Christopher
SYN by Dee Christopher

Since Uri Geller began bending spoons back in the 70's, this metal bending skill has fascinated all magicians and mentalists as well as captivating any audiences that bear witness to it.

Two coins are picked from a handful of change and held at finger tips, the spectator selects one and holds that in their hand, the performer begins to concentrate and gently wave the coin he is left with.

It begins to bend.

While the coin in plain sight is bending, the participant claims to feel the coin in their hand bending in synchronicity.

The hand is opened to reveal the newly bent coin...

How To Remember Names and Faces: How to Develop a Good Memory

Robert H. Nutt
How To Remember Names and Faces: How to Develop a Good Memory by Robert H. Nutt

This classic work on memory, first published in 1943, is really two books in one!

The first part, The Mental Filing System, will teach you how to keep up to 100 things straight in your memory. This is taught in a clear, easy-to-understand manner, using many real-world examples of both the benefits of using the system, as well as the dangers of an untrained memory.

The author taught many of his memory courses in person, and this provides both value and a good knowledge of the questions you're likely to have.

The second part, How To Remember Names and Faces, deals in detail with the problem...

Keep'em Laughing

Aldo Colombini
Keep'em Laughing by Aldo Colombini

The success of my previous comedy books ‘almost’ forced me to collect another incredible bunch of one liners and other funny material. The best compliment I had regarding these publications came from Ed Eckl (co-publisher of Precursor magazine), who said, “In the 60’s we had Robert Orben providing comedy material, now we have Aldo Colombini.”

Robert Orben was and still is my ‘hero’ and my mentor even though we have never met; so the words assume an even greater meaning to me. Here’s the content: HILARIOUS ONE LINERS, IRONIC AND FUNNY GRAFFITI, SMART HECKLERS REMARKS, and...

36 Tricks With Fa-Ko Cards

Ronald Haines
36 Tricks With Fa-Ko Cards by Ronald Haines...
dignity they deserve!

There is much, MUCH more to being a magician than knowing the secrets of tricks, and as we said before, these tricks are definitely not "self-working." There is much that YOU have to do! Cards must be added to your regular pack, and after the effect, secretly removed. Or, one pack must be "switched" for another. The original FA-KO Pack advocated doing a routine of tricks with the gimmicked cards. We feel that it would be much better to use them as individual tricks — the little "miracles" possible by the use of gimmicked cards will add greatly to the other tricks...

Sealed Mysteries by Burling Hull

Even in this early publication he complains about unauthorized copies being sold by unscrupulous dealers. A hundred years later and nothing has changed. We still have magic retailers and manufacturers producing and selling illegal and unauthorized copies of magic products.

One thing has changed though over the last 100 years - the use of Bicycle cards. Hull writes:

One of the objections to the trick is that the design of the backs are that of Bicycle...

EFFECT #1: The magician opens up a card wallet displaying some playing cards torn in four pieces, each of them held by a rubber band. He explains, "Those are a few of the wrong predictions I've made in the past. Since then, I've learnt to keep being positive. For example, this one was wrong at the time it was made, but what if it was just right today?" You move this one aside and pocket the rest.

A spectator selects any two-digit number up to 50. The deck is dealt accordingly to make up a card, selecting a value and a suit. Despite the huge range of possible outcomes, the prediction that...

Chan first performs a few card effects and closes with a book test. In the beginning spectators take a few cards each and Canasta divines which cards each one has. Then two spectators take one card from a full deck each and they magically take the same card. Later a spectator takes two cards from a deck and puts each one in one of his pockets, without Canasta looking, but again Canasta knows...
