Thought of Card Miracle by Dustin Marks

Effect: Spectator thinks of any card, no force. They can change their mind. Without asking any questions or looking at the faces of the cards, the magician names the card. This is about as close to pure mind reading as it gets.

Description:

If you could truly read a spectator's mind, you would have them think of a card and then reveal it without asking any questions. But there's one more important element: verification of the card the spectator is thinking of. We all know there are spectators who want the magician to fail. They might lie about which card they were thinking of.

You could have the spectator write the card down - but then you'd need pen and paper. They could type the card name in their phone? No, too suspicious. Mark the card with a Sharpie? No, you'd need to replace the card every time.

What about a method that's simple, logical, and doesn't require bringing anything extra?

This effect relies on a deceptively simple method that leaves your audiences amazed. The spectator freely thinks of any card, places a Joker next to their card for verification while the performer looks away. Without asking questions or looking at the cards, the performer names the spectator's card. This routine combines two established magical principles into a new principle that's always ready, easy to perform, and highly effective.

There's even a simple method using the spectator's deck I have included for you.
