The book incorporates three hard-to-find private manuscripts that Nuzzo and Marlo published in the 1980s: Plus Package, Unforgettable Wild Card, and 21st Century Card Magic.
Taken at face value, strangers to the subjects and objects of this book will find old and new artifacts - namely the specialties that have been a lasting part of Jimmy Nuzzo's audience-tested repertoire. There are enduring techniques such as the highly touted Side Steal to Rear Palm, Simul- and Deal Steals, the Shootish Coat Load, Peek Count, and Faro Slough-Offs. Each is thoroughly and graphically explained, and his method of Card-to-Pocket was powerful enough to enthuse Dai Vernon.
The rest of the book incorporates three, hard-to-find, private manuscripts that Nuzzo and Marlo put out in the 80s. Now that we have entered the 21st century, students of Hammanesque effects of plasticity and off-beat novelty can mine 21st Century Card Magic to see what they missed or didn't know existed twenty years ago.
In a more personal sense, the subtext of this book is about how a diligent student became a master and how a friendship was forged in the process. This book is also a legacy of that friendship - a heartfelt time capsule of a bygone time. Yet, newcomers will discover material that still has the luster of novelty. Old hands of course will revel in the retro-revitalization of the material, being happily reminded, as I said earlier, of what is timeless and universally applicable. This is an important element that shouldn't be overlooked.
Although this book is too large to be pocketed like a field manual, I regard it as one. It's meant to be studied, frequently consulted, and carried with you. Hymnal-sized, it's destined to be dog-eared by the faithful.
