Most magicians are aware of the classic "Jumping Rubber Band Trick." The DeLorian gimmick allows you to apparently remove a folded card from under the cellophane of the card case in a natural and completely deceptive way....

Being a huge fan of the classic 'rising card' effect, Dave asked himself the following question: "Is it possible to cause a freely selected and signed card to rise from the centre of a regular deck of cards that is locked inside the card case?"

The answer is YES! The answer is AIR!

Any card is freely selected from the deck. The card is signed before being lost back into the pack. The pack is placed into the box and you focus your attention on the top of the cased deck. Slowly and eerily, a card is seen to rise from the center for well over half its length. That card is the signed card....

Effect: You place a folded business card - a prediction - on the table in full view. Your spectator is asked to imagine three coins. A freely chosen number between 1 and 52 is written on a business card. A freely chosen card is written on a second business card. Both of these are locked inside the card case. There is a very cool gimmick in play which makes this whole thing practically...

Effect: You show a deck of playing cards - they're blank on the back and on the face you have written all the letters of the alphabet, one letter on each card. The spectator shuffles the deck and selects any four cards. He is then asked to form a word from the four cards chosen. If it so happens that he can make more than one word - he is allowed a COMPLETELY FREE CHOICE of which word he would like to settle on. A prediction that has been in full view throughout is then shown to accuratley match the freely chosen word!

Imagine this: You show your lucky Joker - it's folded and stapled firmly to the card case. A card is selected, let's say it's the Jack of Clubs. It is placed face up in the centre of the pack. A blue backed deck is removed from its case. The deck is spread and your spectators are asked to call out the names of some cards that they see. You then take the named cards and, one by one, begin to magically change their back colour from blue to red. Offering a better look at the technique you announce that you will change the back of another card...

'Card to Box' meets 'Deck to Pocket' in this insanely visual transpostion.

The Effect: You remove the deck from its case and have a spectator freely choose any card - no force - and sign it across the face. You then place the card case into your pocket before losing the signed card back into the centre of the deck. With a snap of your fingers you claim that you have made the card jump to your pocket and appear inside the card case. Your audience doesn't believe you. But, with a totally empty hand you reach into your pocket and produce...the entire deck. The spectator turns his attention back...

Why do ACAAN with one deck when you can up the apparent impossibility with two decks? That's the beauty of Arbitrium.

Imagine removing a prediction card and placing it in your pocket. You then bring out two decks, one with numbered cards and one standard deck. The spectator makes an actual free choice from each deck, selecting one number and one playing card. The performer removes his prediction to show it not only matches the freely selected card, but it also has the chosen number boldly drawn on it. A double prediction and ACAAN combined.

Wrong Turn is a fun and baffling approach to ACAAN that adds a kicker ending your spectators will never see coming. While most effects in this plot are telegraphed, this surprising twist strengthens the climax of the effect, further engaging your audience, while delivering even greater impact.

A deck of cards is displayed as the performer mentions he made a prediction in the deck. The spectator cuts to a card, remembers it, then returns it anywhere in the deck. The participant then thoroughly shuffles the cards so their selection is genuinely lost in the deck. Any number from 1 to 52 is...

The spectator finds their card in an incredible way, with a stunning kicker revelation.

The jokers are given to a spectator to hold, then a card is selected. The chosen card is shuffled and lost in the deck. The cards are spread face down and the spectator freely inserts the jokers face up around any single card, isolating it from the rest. This mystery card is now turned over to reveal that, incredibly, it is their selected card. The effect could end right here, but in an unexpected finale, the jokers are turned over to reveal a jaw-dropping prediction.

From a borrowed and shuffled deck a spectator finds his own selection by summing three randomly selected cards.

David Jonathan has completely restructured and reworked an old math principle to make it very deceptive. He removed most of the spectator card counting sequences and thus turned a counting and procedure-heavy trick into a stunningly effective and hard-hitting card routine.

You place a ripped off empty jeans pocket on the table. Magically you take three coins one by one out of it. You magically make them disappear and appear inside/under the pocket. The climax is that all three coins disappear inside the pocket.

You will need two coins and a matching expanded shell. The video includes a detailed explanation of the "Palm to Palm", "Classic Palm to Fingerpalm Transfer" and "Toss Up Production" moves.

This is a very effective and very easy card rise developed by David Regal. Any card is selected and shuffled into the deck. The selection now inexplicably rises out of the deck. New method, easy to do.

No threads, rubber bands, magnets or other contraptions. The gimmick is simple and right there invisible in the deck. Spectators can stare right at it and not see it. Very clever and very practical.
