Miraculous Janus by Biagio Fasano

An incredible mentalism effect with cards, totally impromptu and hands-off, in which the illusionist will find the card thought of and scattered within a deck that the spectator himself, cutting in various parts, will shuffle several times, also faces against backs.

This is an incredible effect involving the retrieval of a thought-of card, totally impromptu, practically hands-off (the illusionist will only pick up the deck of cards at the end of the experiment) and therefore always ready for a performance, even if the magician only has a borrowed deck of cards, which may even be incomplete.

A spectator, after shuffling a deck as desired, chooses any card at random, stops the dealing, and immediately disperses it within the deck itself. Not only that, but by cutting the deck into several parts and turning some of the piles face up, he will further shuffle the deck, faces against backs. At the end, not only will the magician be the only one who knows for sure that his card has ended up face down, but after the spectator cuts the deck again, he will be able to magically locate its position!

Strengths:

  • The deck of cards can also be borrowed, even if incomplete, and shuffled as desired.
  • The effect is completely improvised and requires no preparation.
  • The trick takes place practically in the spectator's hands (hands off) and, only at the end, will the magician be able to find the chosen card.
  • The magician does not need to manipulate the cards in any way.
