Arthur Setterington

Inspired at age 4 seeing a magician. Learned at age 7 from mother's gift of an Ernest Sewell magic set. Methodist lay preacher. Aka "Arturo" and "Wyke". Semi-pro magician and magic collector. Inventor, including Cube in a Tube. Zina Bennett Trophy 1960 and 1968. MIMC 1986.
Wrote Stranger Mysteries (1967, 20 pp), The Joe Smith Mysteries (1968, 20pp), Micro-Magic Ghost Show (1970, 40pp), The Power of Persuasion (1972, 28pp), Straight Line Mysteries (1972, 49pp), Off Beat Mentalism (1975, 28pp), The Book of Magic (1986, with Edwin A. Dawes), Magic in the Air, and The Life and Times of the Great Lafayette (1991, 112pp). Has published over 640 effects in magazines, beginning with Abra in 1947. Also in Magic Circular and Swami. Memoir is Pass the Salt (1965).
