The ultimate ungaffed wild card - use any deck.

The original version of this routine was called Born to be Wild (from Inspirations). Peter has enjoyed performing the original over the years, for lay people AND magicians, but the fact that he couldn't show the last card always bothered him. This is a beautiful flourish where one or more coins roll across the back of the fingers. Both Nate Leipzig and Allan Shaw claim to have invented this move. Al Goshman did a wonderful version where a coin rolls up and down his hand. Extreme variations go as far as rolling eight coins, four on each hand.

Spectator merely thinks of any card out of 52 and that card is the only one with a different back than the rest of the deck. But what if the spectator would have named another card? To demonstrate the performer takes another card and visually moves the off color back from the first selection to the new one. A very visual and stunning transformation.

The Fan Change
This is what Daniel considers to be a signature color-change and it is one of his favorites. A card is turned face up on top of the deck. The deck is fanned and before the fan closes the face up card has changed to another card.

The fan change is impromptu, it can be performed with any deck of cards and isn't hard to achieve. To stub a misconception...the top card is not being taken away from...

The Tunnel Vision gimmicks will allow you to push a face up playing card through the deck - as it emerges from the other side it is seen to change into a completely different card.

The DeLorian gimmick allows you to apparently remove a folded card from under the cellophane of the card case in a natural and completely deceptive way....

Being a huge fan of the classic 'rising card' effect, Dave asked himself the following question: "Is it possible to cause a freely selected and signed card to rise from the centre of a regular deck of cards that is locked inside the card case?"

The answer is YES! The answer is AIR!

Any card is freely selected from the deck. The card is signed before being lost back into the pack. The pack is placed into the box and you focus your attention on the top of the cased deck. Slowly and eerily, a card is seen to rise from the center for well over half its length. That card is the signed card....

No Gaffs or Duplicates. This is a reworked version of "The Case in Hand" that appeared in Duffie's Card Compulsions. You tell a story of a stranger and a gang of four in an unpleasant neighborhood. The Story: The era of the "greasers" was coming to an end. They had all gone by the way side; they had all moved to the wicked city of Hoyletown. The Effect: The magi weaves a story of smuggling Pesos across the Mexican border. Then demonstrates by placing a signed Peso in one hand and an empty (just examined) film canister in the other hand. The spectators hold onto the hand with the peso to keep it from escaping ... yet the other hand (no where near the peso hand) shakes the Film Canister ... silence ... silence ... then suddenly you HEAR the coin appear in the canister. The Story: ... Can't ... breathe ... feeling ... pain ... must ... survive ... The biggest mistake ever made in the land of Bicycle was the day that the Heart family sent the Jacks after the Joker. They thought he was dead, but they should have checked; after all he is a Joker. The Joker lay there in agony trying to recover from the brutal attack that is known on the streets as being "Jacked Up." That moment, something changed in him. His revenge was developing. The Effect: The magi removes his house key from his key chain and entrusts the spectator with the remainder of his keys. The magus then promptly causes the house key to vanish and reappear on the key ring in the spectator's hand. Sleeves up, no holding out, completely clean vanish. Watch the Demo. This was another big hit of Jeff's on Underground Jam. The particular vanish (a Richard Ross idea) used for the key is the big killer that really inspired a lot of magicians. You don't want to miss this one!

In the spring of 2005 Jay Sankey sent out a world-wide request for audition videos featuring original material from unknown magicians. In response, performers from more than a dozen countries submitted more than 200 tapes and dvds! From this mountain of submissions Jay and his team unanimously selected Joe Diamond, Eric Leclerc and Jeff Stone.

Glass through table is a classic of magic that is at least a hundred years old. You can even find it described in children magic books. The key to this effect is misdirection which requires a good amount of showmanship and spectator handling. Otherwise it is pure simplicity. With the tips and presentation by J.C. Wagner you will turn this classic into a modern and entertaining miracle.

Three spectators choose a card each. The cards vanish from the deck to later reappear face-up in a face-down spread. As long as you can count and do a double undercut you can perform this effect. Since there is counting and displaying of cards involved this effect requires a captive and moderately intelligent audience to play well.

Many years ago Harry Anderson taught this effect to John Cornelius. Now John is teaching it to you. Two pieces of ropes are knotted together. Surprisingly the knot can be slid up and down completely fairly. And finally you open the knot and you have again two pieces of rope.

Effect: You place a folded business card - a prediction - on the table in full view. Your spectator is asked to imagine three coins. They are then asked to select one of the coins, toss it in the air and catch it, calling heads or tails. Let's imagine they call tails! You open your prediction - inside you have accurately predicted both the denomination of the coin they imagined and whether it would land heads or tails!

Inspired by Max Maven's effect 'Positive/Negative', this is the ultimate 'packs...

Effect: You announce that you will give a demonstration of shuffle tracking but that you will go even further than normal and actually track cards in a deck which is mixed face up and face down. The deck is very fairly mixed this way a number of times then you decide to take it even further and have the spectator remember one of the cards from within the chaotic mess you've made of the deck. With this done you FAIRLY FAN THE DECK TOWARDS THE SPECTATORS - IT IS SEEN TO BE GENUINELY MIXED FACE UP INTO FACE DOWN. You even give it one final weave - just to be sure. Now, with no corrective manouvers...
