"This is perhaps, the greatest 'come on', or 'bally stunt' the world has ever known." - Floyd Thayer
This is a sadly forgotten effect that was a big hit back in vaudeville, but overlooked by today's magicians. It has been used by Thurston, Blackstone Sr., U. F. Grant, Tommy Windsor and other great magicians. This is one of the funniest routines in magic and you don't have to be a comedian or comedy performer to pull it off. It always results in hilarious laughter.
The premise is simple; the performer invites a boy up and shows him a half-dollar. The performer says, "This is the one and only RED HOT COIN. After years of practice I have become impervious to its heat. Yet, no one else can hold it." The boy is given the coin and told it is so hot he can't hold it. In a few seconds, the boy drops it with a yell. He tries to pick it up again, but it is too hot to handle. Each time he tries to hold it, the audience laughs more and more. Positively one of the funniest tricks you have seen.
Finally, the coin vanishes as the boy returns to his seat. Positively no chemicals are used and the coin isn't gimmicked in any way. This effect is completely safe to the boy. Uses an instant stooge method. Suitable for family shows or birthday parties. This PDF includes Devin Knight's original 'Wishing Coin' routine which many kid performers will want to add to their birthday party shows. This e-book contains two complete routines with patter. Easily worth $100 to any working performer who will use it.

Love this trick! It is wonderful to take long forgotten effects and perform them for those who have never seen them. You will have a one of a kind show just by adding tricks like this to it. No one will ever guess how the heck you make the coin too hot to hold.
