Dice Any Number

A very direct ACAAN-style effect. The magician places a single card on the table. The spectator freely rolls two dice and chooses how to combine the numbers. A deck is brought out and shown to be all different, with no duplicates. The cards are dealt to the chosen number, and it exactly matches the prediction on the table.

Performance transcript:

• The next effect is my ACAAN-style routine.
• First, there are no gimmicks.
• Just a regular deck straight from the card case, and one ordinary card set aside, plus two standard dice.
• The dice come up differently each time.
• Every roll is different, and it's not a luck-based trick.
• The hit rate is 100%.
• I place one card here from the start.
• The dice go to the spectator for a free roll.
• We roll once and take that total.
• There are two outcomes: 34 or 43.
• So we roll again—odd means 34, even means 43.
• Even, so it's 43.
• The deck comes out of the card case.
• OK.
• No extra cards.
• First, have the spectator spread the deck.
• In effects like this, people suspect duplicates.
• So they check for any repeats.
• A free check—no duplicates.
• The spectator deals down to card 43.
• It's the Jack of Spades.
• I also set out a prediction at the start, and it's the other Jack of Spades.
