
George Johnson
(Plymouth, England: 1877 - 30th July 1962)
Publicist in London. Amateur magician, publisher 1910-45, and collector. Published-edited The Magic Wand 1914-45.
Wrote the scarce Conjurers' Tales (1910, 80pp) with 7 short stories of magic portrayed as fact, The History of "The Magic Wand" (1923, 16pp), and C-O-N-J-U-R-I-N-G (1949). As "H.G. Sparks" wrote Pack a Deck (n.d.). A carbon copy of his unpublished 106-page typescript autobio to c1940, "A Wizard's Wallet", in the Findlay Collection was sold in 1979 to Till book dealers in London.
