Manosutra by Unknown Mentalist

Manosutra in Sanskrit means 'Mind Principle'. This is a stunning piece that you can include in any of your performance sets. Using just a few blank business cards, you can impossibly read the minds of your participants. The reactions will please your heart and boost your ego. Everything happens in the mind of the participant and yet the performer is able to divine the thought of the participant in the most direct manner.

There is a one-time preparation of a few double blank business cards which will take all of 3 minutes and you are then set for many performances - until these cards wear out - and you simply make a new set of cards, whenever you need.

METHOD : Solid, self-working, and smoothly deceptive based on a combination of powerful principles and methods using just a few double blank business cards.

VENUES : Manosutra is suitable for close up, walk around, street, parlor, virtual shows on zoom, facebook, youtube etc.

FEATURES : There are no sleights, no preshow, no stooges or instant stooges. Nothing is written down or spoken. There are no progressive anagrams, no secret writings, no one aheads, no memorization. This method works in any language, with suitable adaptation. There is no dual reality, no reframes, no psy forces. No arts n crafts or diy is needed and the reset takes 5-10 seconds. The cards themselves are completely examinable and can be freely handled by both the performer and the participants before, during and after the performance. There is no kind of tearing involved and no switching. The effect is instantly repeatable with a different outcome, in case you really want to repeat it. This is totally self-working and easy to learn and perform.

NOTE : Any force is a mere tool to achieve an effect. For example in card magic, the popular cross-cut force is a mere tool used in hundreds of effects and routines. The 369 force is one of the tools used in Manosutra. A tool is a tool and can neither be fresh or stale. The routine and effect is what the audiences see, enjoy and remember. The 369 force is a very simple and direct math force and just needs basic addition. The hero here is the effect, not the force.

A force I was not familiar with. I prefer not using last letters. The 3 force cards could be marked and a label cue list put under a hinged lid of a case to hold the cards. There are a lot of options. At $6 introductory price it is good. I do not think $12 would be since Annemann's book 202 Methods of forcing is about $8 in print form. The 3/5 force Max Maven is obsessed with also uses the same number of cards and only has a 2-way out. Not 3 outcomes. But a professional mentalist could use it. They probably already know it. Recommended but not strongly.

I really like The Unknown Mentalist's stuff and must have purchased and performed a half-dozen of his effects, but this one is going to the "369” force one too many times. It's getting a bit stale, to be honest, after some of the nice effects based on it in his earlier work.

Also, there are just two many math steps the spectator has to perform -- adding, counting, and other operations which certainly aren't difficult in themselves, but one slip-up on their part and the whole effect falls apart.
