Giacomo Bertini
European Coin Magic Symposium Volume 4 by Giacomo Bertini

GIACOMO BERTINI: "Cylinder & Chips"
This is his easy version of the famous coin routine. Giacomo uses poker chips instead of coins and his own gimmick, which you can buy from him. He created this routine for professional use, such as when working at event dinners, and in any difficult situation, anywhere. The effect is amazing, like the classical version, but in this case, the routine is really easy to perform, and the hands are really empty, in front of the spectators. Very beautiful routine for stand-up workers. Beginner level.

DARYL: "The Manly Matrix"
This is a wonderful version of the classic...

Joseph B.
Everybody's Fooled by Joseph B.

The method for this miracle is a miracle. So sneaky and ingenious and in many ways better than other gimmicks that have been used for this type of method. The gimmick is something that opens the door to new ideas because this technique is a very powerful weapon.

The title says it all. This effect will fool anyone. Even the most experienced magicians. A revolutionary and incredibly surprising technique. You will be able to find the card the spectator cuts to in a shuffled and borrowed deck, under incredibly impossible conditions. Really easy to do, no sleight of hand.

  • No marked cards ...

Rus Andrews
Evolution: cap in bottle by Rus Andrews

"Beutifully Devious" - James Brown

"The cleanest and most natural impromptu cap in bottle that I've seen in years, I'll be using this for sure!" - Richard Bellars

"The combination of a devious principle and clever psychology make this effect a real winner! Probably the best impromptu cap in bottle routine I've seen!" - Cameron Francis

Evolution is an impromptu approach to the classic cap in bottle effect.

Imagine being able to take an empty beer bottle from a random table in a bar or nightclub, then taking any bottle cap, perhaps from behind the bar or from another drink… Have the spectator...

Mark Lemon
Eyrie by Mark Lemon

You, a spectator, a deck of cards, a miracle!

A spectator shuffles a deck of cards, you instruct them to hold the cards face up, under the table, so that only they can see them. Despite these test conditions, you apparently display a genuine feat of 'remote viewing' by attempting to name each card in turn, as if you are somehow able to 'see through the table'. With an accuracy way beyond the odds you are able to prove to your audience that they are witnessing a real demonstration of 'psychic' ability and what you claim to be true, must be possible.

This effect will completely 'blow away'...

Ralf (Fairmagic) Rudolph
F.C.O.C. (Fairmagic's Card on Ceiling) by Ralf (Fairmagic) Rudolph

An interesting evolution of the classic "card to ceiling effect". Two cards are involved.

The first card appears on the ceiling as in the classic card to ceiling effect. A little later, a second card is selected from which a corner is torn off. This card is now suddenly on the ceiling where the first card was before. Alternatively, you could use a wall or a pane of glass.

Joseph B.
Face to Face Location & Spectator's Revenge by Joseph B.

Two outstanding effects. The first effect is totally impromptu and can be done with a borrowed shuffled deck. It is completely hands-off. This is an impossible location that will fool even fellow magicians. You will get phenomenal reactions from your spectators.

The second effect is called the spectator's revenge because he will find his own card. This is a really fun and surprising routine.

Everything is explained in detail. You may need to buy something extra in order to perform the second effect - Spectator's revenge.

Kevin Parker
Fair Mix by Kevin Parker

Kevin Parker has created a prediction effect that is too impossible to be true: you predict where their card will land in a shuffled deck (*this many* cards down in the deck), mixed in someone's hat to eliminate false shuffling in the hands.

This uses no gimmicks and no trick decks. Use your hat or their's, no specific type. Very practical.

  • Spectator can assist the shuffle in hat.
  • Use anyone's hat, even your's, no specific type.
  • Easy, a complete beginner could do it.

Zaw Shinn
Fake Border by Zaw Shinn

A visual partial vanish of a playing card.

Performer holds a playing card in front of his body. Suddenly most of the card vanishes leaving only the border behind.

This requires the usual supplies and arts and crafts for gaffing cards, plus a black background like a black T-shirt.

Zaw Shinn
Fake Border 2.0 by Zaw Shinn

A super visual partial vanish of a playing card.

Performer holds an empty card frame in one hand and a playing card in the other. By moving the playing card behind the frame the back of the playing card partially vanishes only leaving its frame visible. This looks incredible since the cards can be moved around and everything looks as it should. One could suspect CGI, but everything is achieved with gaffed cards and sleight of hand.

This requires the usual supplies and arts and crafts for gaffing cards, plus a black background like a black T-shirt.

Zaw Shinn
Fake Border Revamped by Zaw Shinn

The magician holds a card in front of his body and with a wave of the hand, the center vanishes only leaving the border.

This is an improvement to the older version because it does not require a black background. You will need the usual supplies and arts and crafts for gaffing cards.

Devin Knight
Fandemonium by Devin Knight

Important: These are not plans for making this yourself. These are the detailed directions plus supplements that came with this trick when it was on the market for $395.00 in the early 2000s. This PDF is designed for collectors who may have the prop, but no directions, magic historians, and those simply curious as to how this trick was done. The trick still shows up on eBay, magic flea markets and auctions. If you need the directions, then here they are.

EFFECT: Magician shows a small electric fan roughly 10" x 10". The fan is turned on and shown to be a normal working fan. Magician then...

Fantastic by Sultan Orazaly

The impossible appearance of a pen in a bottle.

Show an empty plastic bottle and suddenly a big sharpie pen materializes inside the bottle. Dump the pen out and show it.

Note that this has very bad angles and can only successfully be performed in front of a camera or one stationary viewer. Great for YouTube and video chats but not an item performable with a live audience. Gimmick is easy to make.

Faro Miracle by Joseph B.

This effect is a masterpiece of mathematical engineering with a sophisticated and devilish method. If you are a fan of the Faro shuffle you will not regret having acquired this gem. This effect is an exception because it requires skill and sleight of hand compared to tricks published by joseph B. in the past. Despite this, if you are familiar with the Faro shuffle this is the effect for you.

Effect: The magician places a prediction card on the table indicating his lucky number. The spectator thinks of a number from one to ten, cuts the deck in two, and takes a number of cards equal to the...

Joseph B.
Fate by Joseph B.

Do as I Do under impossible conditions.

An impossible coincidence, a powerful mental effect. Two regular and shuffled decks. Really simple and fun to do. The spectator takes any card from one deck and the magician does the same from the other deck. The amazing thing is that the magician and the spectator surprisingly took the same card. A variation "Do as I do" with an interesting and fascinating technique.

  • Two normal decks
  • No gimmick; no double-sided card
  • No sticky stuff; no wax; no rough and smooth; no tape or double-sided tape

Raphaël Czaja
Final Countdown by Raphaël Czaja

A card is selected and outjogged from a deck which is then put on the table. Now, you bring out a packet of five prediction cards that you show to have all red backs and fronts (all different), saying one of them must be the selection.

You explain that the cards will help you, not to find the right one, but to eliminate the four wrong ones!

After some magical gesture:

  • One card gets a cross drawn onto its face.
  • The back of a second card turns blue.
  • A third card reverses itself.
  • A message appears on the back of a fourth card saying: "NOT THIS ONE!".
You're left with one card, let's...
