The Effect: The magi removes his house key from his key chain and entrusts the spectator with the remainder of his keys. The magus then promptly causes the house key to vanish and reappear on the key ring in the spectator's hand. Sleeves up, no holding out, completely clean vanish. Watch the Demo. A classic effect from the early days of magic catalogs. An effect that every kid wanted to order so he could impress his friends. Ads for this trick appeared in early Boy's Life and in comic books. It's an effect that is still effective today but is almost forgotten.

It is a little known secret that is even being used by some rock bands today to make their eyes flash during concerts.

A superior force where a spectator stops the magician anywhere during a running cut. Yet, that card is forced without any sleights or slip cuts.

One of the cleanest card forces ever created. Perfect for the mentalist looking for a natural force that doesn't scream card trick. Imagine showing a regular deck of cards and repeatedly cutting them until someone tells you to stop. You very cleanly deal off the card you were stopped at and believe it or not that card was forced! This is a straight forward ACAAN that is very easy to do - one could say it is more or less a move-less method. You ask the spectator to name any card (no force, completely free choice). Then you ask them to cut a portion of the cards off the deck and count the cards. This is the free selection for a number. Again there is no force of any kind. The spectator can cut as little or as many cards as she wishes. Nevertheless, the card the spectator has chosen earlier ends up at the same number.

[Note: The method is deceptively simple. It will probably not fool most magicians, but it will fool the vast majority of laypeople. The advantage of this method is that it requires no preparation and no forcing of any kind.]

You will need to be able to do a half-pass. A short card helps in the sleight-of-hand proceedings.

Box'ing is a principle that allows us to reveal a spectator's selection using a card box.

Effect:

You show an empty card box and a deck of cards and hand them both to a spectator. They select a card and bury it back into the deck. Now you say that you are going to find their card using the card box. You then take the box and shake it. They hear nothing.
