My Favorite Coin Magic with the Expanded Shell by Gerald Edmundson

"Gerald shares his favorite coin routines using an expanded shell. You will be able to fry your audiences with any one of them! My favorite is Traveling Silver, definitely worth the price of admission! Very highly recommended!" - Lonnie Chevrie

"Whether you are a master coin manipulator or only familiar with basic sleights, Gerald's routines can add an extra layer of mystery to your performance. The explanations are clear, accessible, and thoroughly teach every move. Each piece works beautifully as a standalone effect, or you may combine any of the included pieces to create a seamless, multi-phase act." - Joe Mansfield

Some tricks with the expanded shell are not possible or become awkward when performed with pure sleight of hand. The expanded shell allows us to pursue simplicity with coin magic. Performances without obvious "finger-flinging" appear like real magic. The routines are well within the skill level of the average performer.

While performing at banquet tables or similar settings, the rattling of coins in a glass or a colorful handkerchief attracts attention. This can arouse the curiosity of the guests at other tables. You are likely to be invited to their table without having to approach their table "cold." With this in mind, Standup Kangaroo Coins, Coins and a Glass and Three Coins and a Handkerchief could be additions to a professional repertoire. Traveling Silver, Morgan Matrix, My Fastest Trick and "Ancient History" would be excellent additions to most any close-up magic performance.

Routines with the expanded shell were mainstays in Gerald's professional repertoire for many years. He hopes the tricks give you and your spectators as much joy as they gave him.

This book is full of worker material, richly illustrated with clear color photos. He offers alternative endings and practical advice, such as coin selection and performing at banquet tables. There’s a very clever and useful idea for using a coin purse to ring in a gimmick or extra coin.

Interestingly, he has one routine with the same basic handling but multiple formats, such as coins across, coins to glass, and a rarity, a stand-up coins through table.

Nothing is knuckle-busting. He works out of fingerpalm. If you want to perform coin magic at a paid gig, this is a great resource.
