It is probably the most useful card series of all time, because it is not only ideal for the beginner to start learning and performing card magic, but also a wonderful series for professionals who want to renew their focus on strong and effective card routines, or for the busy professional who wants to add a couple of strong card effects without having to practice for months. $0 College Bridge Series First SemesterChris HasneyThe College Bridge Series is a multi-semester college bridge course designed around the requirements to successfully compete in the American Contract Bridge League "College Bowl" of tournament bridge. Participants should be between the ages of 17 and 26, and compete as teams in online trials with the top four teams eligible to compete for scholarships at the summer North American Bridge Championships (NABC).
The course, designed, compiled and mostly written by Arizona bridge teacher and author Chris Hasney covers several semesters of classwork to introduce college students, faculty, and staff... $0 College Bridge Series Fourth SemesterChris HasneyThe College Bridge Series is a multi-semester college bridge course designed around the requirements to successfully compete in the American Contract Bridge League "College Bowl" of tournament bridge. Participants must be between the ages of 17 and 25, and compete as teams in online trials with the top four teams eligible to compete for scholarships at the summer North American Bridge Championships (NABC). Semester 1 assumes no experience with card play, let alone bridge. Semester 2 brings students to modern team-based contract bridge competition using modern Standard American (SAYC+) techniques.... $0 College Bridge Series Third SemesterChris HasneyThe College Bridge Series is a multi-semester college bridge course lesson plans designed around the requirements to successfully compete in the American Contract Bridge League "College Bowl" of tournament bridge. Participants must be between the ages of 17 and 25, and compete as teams in online trials with the top four teams eligible to compete for scholarships at the summer North American Bridge Championships (NABC).
This third course deconstructs and blends author Max Hardy's final two books on the 2/1 Game Force bidding system, helping transition bridge students from advanced Standard... $0 College Bridge Series Second SemesterChris Hasney2nd semester contains only 11 prepared lessons, several of which can be assigned as homework reading. This allows instructors time to complete any unfinished work from 1st semester and still have extra time for integrating new members into the club, final prep for online College Bowl competition, etc. It should be noted that the rules for the competition have changed. You now have two chances (one each semester) to qualify, but they occur much earlier in the calendar year in fall and winter. Adapt and overcome.
Originally I had planned to integrate match point play and full 2/1 Game Force... ★★★★★ $5 The Royal Road to Card MagicJean Hugard & Fred Braue The younger generation of card magicians probably knows or has heard of Card College by Roberto Giobbi. The Royal Road to Card Magic is very similar but of older vintage and doesn't cover as much ground. It introduces the novice into the art of card magic one move and principle at a time, always with tricks accompanying the moves. It is therefore not a mindless list of moves but a well prepared and thought out textbook. It will take the beginner to an intermediate level. Once The Royal Road to Card Magic has been mastered one can move on to Expert Card Technique which requires a higher skill level.
Actually because Expert Card Technique did not sell well... ★★★★★ $7.95 Introduction to Card MagicRoberto GiobbiIn 14 clearly organized lessons you will learn how to handle a deck of cards like a pro. And along the way you will acquire some amazing, yet simple card tricks, which will allow you to successfully perform a little card act for an audience.

★★★★★ $6 Expert Card TechniqueJean Hugard & Fred Braue This is the 3rd edition which includes an additional chapter by Dai Vernon and another one by Dr. Daley. (The popular Dover version is a reprint of the 2nd edition and is lacking these two interesting chapters.) This book describes serious stuff. Card moves and tricks for the advanced card man. (For an excellent introduction to card magic see The Royal Road to Card Magic or the Card College series.) Expert Card Technique lists and explains in detail a large quantity of card moves. Card moves are abundant and any good card man will come up with his own variations and twists due to his constant use of cards and tireless perfection of... ★★★★★ $19.90 Cy Endfield's Entertaining Card MagicLewis GansonOriginally published by Harry Stanley in three separate parts (1955, 1956, 1958) this ebook is a complete remake of all three parts in one volume with new photos taken by Martin Breese and posed by Paul Gordon. The card magic presented is exceptional. It also explains all the basic moves Cy used to perform the tricks described. This classic trilogy therefore can serve as a wonderful introduction to card magic or be a treasure trove for those who are looking for some beautiful effects. You will find many well structured classics like Ambitious Card or Three Card Monte as well as some unusual effects.
Among Cy's teachers... ★★★★★ $8 Basic, Basic Card MagicPaul HallasWhere to start and what's important.
This is a well thought out and compact introduction to card magic by Paul Hallas. He teaches you the most important sleights and tricks that go along with these sleights.
From the introduction:
If you learn a sleight, learn a trick to do with it. Don't learn moves you have no tricks for, what
is the point? Better to know a few moves that you can do many effects with than many moves
that you are not sure what to use for. Just like magicians have drawers full of tricks they never
use why fill up your mind with moves (and waste time learning them)... ★★★★★ $9.90 Dai Vernon's Inner Secrets of Card MagicLewis Ganson & Dai Vernon This is the first part of Vernon's famous Inner Secrets of Card Magic series. It includes notable work on color changes. In "Dai Vernon's Colour Changing Pack" Vernon provides the proper motivation for the use of the Hindu Shuffle: showing the back color of the deck. "Emotional Reaction" is an example of a subtle and cunning use of a key card. Probably the best effect in this volume is the "Notis Stop Trick".
1st edition 1959; original 76 pages; PDF 59 pages.

★★★★★ $12 ... and a Pack of CardsJack MerlinThis publication is in my opinion among the best books on cards ever written, but it is rarely mentioned or recommended. I am not sure why this is. Perhaps one reason is that Jack Merlin himself has not left a large footprint in the magic literature besides this one publication. He has a published trick in Expert Card Technique and if you read Card College 1 you will have learned the Jack Merlin's Riffle Shuffle. Farelli mentions in his Farell's Card Magic: "I agree with Mr. Jack Merlin that the custom of continually practicing in front of a glass is the cause of the unfortunate habit many magicians have of blinking at the precise moment of performing...
