Martin Breese
(London, England: 13th September 1937 – 23rd Feb 2012.)
Martin Breese was born in Streatham, South London. His father was a pharmacist. At the age of 11, the family moved to South Africa where he was educated until the age of 26 when he returned to the UK. Martin was passionate about magic from early childhood.
Martin had his first success in magic with his line of Magicassettes starting in 1976. The first one was an interview with Bobby Bernard and the second one with David Berglas. Over the years he released more than 80 such tapes and later offered them on Audio CDs. (You can find all of the Martin Breese recordings among the MP3s offered in the Magic Audio category.)
In 1982 Martin published his first magic book Alternative Card Magic written by at that time two completely unknown magicians - Peter Duffie and Jerry Sadowitz. Of course today we know these names as two of the most creative and influential card magicians alive. Martin continued to publish dozens of great magic books, DVDs, and digital magazines. He also acquired other magic publishers such as Harry Stanley's Unique Magic Studio, Magic Wand, Supreme, and others.
Magic was Martin's life. He continued to enthusiastically perform for family and friends, collected magic books and tricks, and diligently built his magic business, and created new product ideas constantly.
Many of his products are still available and can be found here, or directly at Martin Breese International.
