This is quite an unusual magic magazine. It ran from March 1992 to January 1994 with only 6 issues, but it was from the start planned that way. Each issue was formatted along the lines of another famous magazine from the past.

Martin Breese writes in his introduction:

This will be unlike any other magical magazine ever published, in that each issue will reproduce the format, some of the contents, and the covers of a different magical magazine from the past.

Martin Breese spent a substantial amount of time to piece together routines and information about Al Koran with the help of many of his friends, people who worked with Al Koran in some form or another, information on audio recordings, magazine articles and many other bits and pieces of information. Originally published in 1983, but revised by Martin Breese before his untimely death in 2012.

Back in the 1980's when Martin Breese was a fledgling Magic Dealer advertising regularly in Abracadabra he decided to create a little free house magazine to keep his clients in touch with magic that he was releasing and information about the magic scene for those who were not living in London or within easy reach of London. The Newsletter grew until one day it was so successful that he decided to turn it into a proper magic magazine and so Sorcerer Magazine was born.
