A signed selected card is placed face down into the middle of the face-up deck, protruding for half its length. The performer looks for the four kings and removes them from the pack. The kings are shown clearly on both sides and then placed into the empty card box (this is done by the spectator himself). Now the chosen signed card vanishes from the pack completely. When the card box is opened, the signed selected card is found face-up in the middle of the four kings!

For the killer finale, a king is cut into four pieces and yet the signed card transposes, ending up with the signed card being...

This has nothing to do with Lager Beer, but a lot with David Regal. REGAL read backwards is LAGER and that's where the name comes from. David's excellent "Clarity Box" that he marketed was the inspiration, in fact I actually use his box in this video (although you could use any container or suitable drinking glass).

This is my handling with the UNPREPARED crystal box, acchieving the same result: a folded card, which has been in full view inside the box is switched out for a signed card. This is a no-frill switch for the worker with a heavy rentention of vision aspect to it.

A startling transformation. A cased deck is shown. The Jokers are removed and suddenly the entire case is gone and only the cards remain. The gimmick is very easy to make, and the performance couldn't be simpler.

Signed card into envelope, using a novel method which eliminates all difficult sleight-of-hand.

This concept enables you to steal and load a signed card into an envelope which has been in full view all the time. The signed card is placed into a clear box with a lid, this is placed into a larger carton box with a lid, and all is encircled with a rubber band. Still, you are able to extract the card. The load into the envelope is done in full view, and can be used without the box steal, as well.

This is a triple prediction effect. It requires intermediate sleight-of-hand including second dealing. The routine includes additional handlings (impromptu and set-up versions) and two bonus effects/ideas. Some presentational tips are included, too.

Keep these points in mind:

• Impromptu (the deck is set up only once and you're ready to perform it as many times as you want!)
• Spectator shuffles the deck at the start.
• Spectator can even shuffle the cards during the trick.

The creator of these effects, Jozsef Kovacs, is a Hungarian magician who became interested in magic at the age of four. He was living in a small village but only when he moved to Budapest he was able to find a magic store and the possibility to find books and videos. This effect was created by Bruce Cervon who gave Aldo permission to teach and release it. It is a wonderfully simple and unique poker deal demonstration that never has to be reset, because at the end of the routine the deck is ready for a repeat - ideal for table hoppers. Uses a regular deck of cards with an additional set of aces.

Aldo also teaches a number of easy false cuts and shuffles which you can use in combination with this demonstration, but they are not necessary. With a good presentation this can be just as effective as other story routines, such as "Sam and Moe" or "Sam and the Bellhop",...

A coin trick done without coins, or a card trick done without regular playing cards. However you want to look at it - a pretty unusual trick.

You show four cards each with a quarter printed on its face. One by one the quarters vanish and reappear on one card which now has four quarters on it. The card is left on a spectator's palm and, while there, it changes into a card with a dollar coin on it.

[Note that you will receive a PDF and a video, but NO cards. The PDF includes a photo of the custom card faces, but you will have to make the cards yourself using stickers, transfers, hand-drawn or printing. You will need two double facers and three blank faced cards to start with.]

Three strong effects with an unexpected climax. This routine can last for several minutes and although it is very easy to perform, you will produce three strong effects due to the gimmicked deck that you can easily prepare in ten minutes.

EFFECT

The performer shows a deck and shuffles it. A card is selected by a spectator and openly placed in the middle of the deck. A coin is vanished. The deck is cut and on the bottom portion there is the vanished coin. Below the coin is the selected card.

Another card is selected and replaced in the deck. The words WHO IS THE GREATEST MAGICIAN?...

You show a packet of five jumbo cards cut in half. Two spectators shuffle the cards and split the packet taking some cards each. For example, one spectator has 4 cards and one has six. You place an envelope on the table and then show the cards to each spectator in turn. They look and remember the one half-card (that corresponds to the number of cards they each had in hand). Then you ask them to remove from the packet the half-card they have seen. Incredibly they match! Not...

This is a lovely self-working small packet trick Aldo Colombini created from a trick published by Richard Vollmer.

Effect:

You show the spectator two face-up packs with four cards each, and a prediction - in the form of a face-down card - is placed on the table. The cards are the same in each pile, but their order is different. From a regular deck of cards, the spectator selects three cards. The values of these cards determine how many cards have to be moved from the top to the bottom in either of the piles. The spectator is even allowed to split the work between the piles. A revelation of a freely selected card.

EFFECT: The performer places an envelope containing a prediction on the table. He shows a deck of cards, and he begins to deal cards onto the table. A spectator says 'stop' at any moment he likes. The stopped-at card is placed aside and kept by the spectator who chose it. Several cards before and after the selection are clearly shown to be all different, while the performer states that the spectator could have stopped him on any of them. The spectator reveals the chosen card, for example, the King of Spades, and the prediction is seen to be a Jumbo...

You place the Ace, Two, Three and Four of Clubs on the table in a square formation as is typically done with matrix-type effects. You cover two cards with two jumbo cards. One by one all the cards assemble under one jumbo card.

You try to repeat the 'assembly' without the jumbo cards but the regular cards do not move. You turn over three cards and they are seen to be all blank. The other card is the 10 of Clubs, the sum of all the cards!
