Alexander de Cova
Alexander de Cova was born in 1964 in Munich, Bavaria. At age 7 he was infected by the magic bug through the usual magic kit. At age 14, he decided to become a professional magician. But it should take a couple of years for this to happen. At age 21 he debuted as a professional performer and has never since then regretted that decision.
Soon he realized the benefits of doing lectures for magicians. He started his very first lecture in Bologna at the Italian National Convention. He is still proud to have worked with Prof. Sitta.
In 1992 he won the "Magic Hands Show Competition" and after that, Richard Ross invited him to perform at the prestigious Monte Carlo Magic Festival, where he won the "Silver Magic Wand" with his SAMURAI act.
Since then he has been a regular at conventions for many years, both performing and lecturing. He has literally traveled the world and produced over 40 DVDs, mostly in German. He is well versed in almost any field of magic and has even built illusions. Quite a lot of magicians perform his creations and he has served as a magic consultant to many professional performers.
In 1998 he founded the company DECOVAMAGIC, which deals with his own exclusive inventions. As a publisher, in recent times he was busy bringing out his German magazine New Avantgarde Magic and the English Scrapbook Magazine, both of which are highly demanded by magicians all around the world.
His hobbies besides magic are music (he loves to play traditional Irish music on the Irish button box), computers and painting.
He is now living in the southern part of Germany with his wife Helena running his company and he keeps on creating magic. His favorite motto is: "Giving back to magic one SCRAPBOOK at a time."
