Gaffed in Cards

You show two packets of four cards each. One has red dots on the faces and red backs. The other one has blue dots on the faces and blue backs. You repeatedly interleave them but they always separate.

You show two packs of four blank cards each. You stick a blue dot on the top card of one pile and suddenly all these four cards have blue dots. You do the same with the red dot and the other pile. Then you exchange the top cards of these two piles. The remaining cards follow their leaders because the pack that had blue dots before has now the red dots and vice versa. When you take off a red dot and a blue dot from one card each, the remaining cards return to blank cards.

The spectator cuts the deck as much as he wants. The magician picks up the deck and deals the cards singly from the top. When the spectator stops him, the magician tables the deck and turns away. The spectator remembers the value of one card and the suit of another card where he stopped at. He gathers the cards - he can even cut the deck - before the magician faces him again. Then, the magician asks the spectator to concentrate and makes two assertions, one about the color and one about the value. The spectator tells him if he is right or wrong both times. You show four cards that are blank on both sides. You stick a red spot on one of the blank cards and they suddenly all show red spots. You do the same with a blue dot and they all show blue dots. Finally, the cards return to being blank on both sides.

You show four cards with red dots and four cards with yellow dots. When you touch the pack of red dots with the pack of yellow dots one of the red dot cards changes to a yellow dot card. You do this several times until all four cards you are holding have turned yellow. Suddenly they turn back to showing red dots. When you show the pack of yellow cards on the table they now all have blue dots.

You show five cards that have a blue dot on their faces. When you rotate the pack one dot changes to a red dot. You table the red dotted card. Another magical gesture and another red dot appears. You continue until four cards have changed to red dots. The final card with a blue dot changes to just a blue dot, no fifth card is visible anymore.

You show four blank cards and a dot. By waving the blank cards over the dot several more dots appear one at a time. At the end, the blank cards show the same dots printed on them.

This is a mind-blowing, two-part effect. The spectator cuts the deck, looks at the card (no force) and then cuts the card back into the deck. With one cut, the magician controls the spectator's card to the 2nd card from the top of the deck.

The magician performs the effect again but under impossible conditions. After the magician cuts the deck, he never touches the deck again. The spectator is in control, cutting and shuffling the deck multiple times. Yet magically the spectator's card is again the 2nd card from the top of the deck!

EFFECT

One bullet. Six chambers. One Ace of Spades. Six positions among five red cards. You give the cards to the participant for examination. The participant secretly inserts the "bullet" into one of the six chambers and hands you back the "gun".

The cards lie on your wide-open hand, you don't even look at them. You look at the participant. He knows where the bullet is. As you deal the first card face up, you say: "clic". The card is red. Empty chamber.

You keep looking at your participant. How does he feel about the next one? You deal the next one face up. Red card, empty chamber....

It's never been done before because it's never been possible until now and now you can predict the assisting spectator's actual beliefs. For the kicker, a second prediction nails any card of 52 the spectator names!

You start with four blank cards and show them from both sides to be blank. Suddenly backs appear, faces appear, and you finish with yet another change of the back designs.

You will need three jacks or three cards with identical faces but different backs. You will also need three blank cards, two of which have the same back, and one a different back. You will also need a piece of hard wax which Peter uses to prepare one card.
