This is a neat card and coin to pocket effect.

Have a spectator grab a coin and sign it on both sides. You vanish it, or as Alan likes to say 'make it invisible'. Have a spectator select a card, and also the card vanishes while rubbing it on the leg.

Both card and coin magically traveled to your pocket. However, the unbelievable miracle is that the signed coin is actually inside the spectator selected card. The card has to be peeled open like an in-flight envelope to get to the coin.

The magician shows a deck of cards and asks spectator 1 to cut a third of the deck and look at the card he cut to and then shuffle the packet. The magician looks away. This is a very visual effect. Magically transfer writing from a card to your hand. Have a card selected (not forced), have it signed on the face, and then make a mark on the back. Wave your hand over the card and suddenly the mark has vanished from the card. It has transferred to the palm of your hand. Hand out the signed card as a souvenir.

The gimmick is easy to make and only requires a bit of arts and crafts with the usual supply for card gaffing.

Like a nail writer only more practical. For years mentalists have been racking their brains trying to find the perfect solution as to how to make an ink writer. Scott Xavier has found a practical solution you can make yourself.

Unlike other systems, there's no cutting of ink cartridges, instead everything needed can be picked up at a local office supply store! You will also need an old thumb tip. In this video Xavier takes you through the steps to constructing the ink writer as well as how to use it in action.

A small envelope with a hole cut from its address side is examined. A deck of blank-faced cards is then freely displayed and one blank card is openly slid into the envelope which is left in view.

From a regular deck, a spectator touches the back of any card. Let's say it is the 6C. This card is waved over the envelope and when the previously blank card is slid out it is seen to have now printed itself to match the selected 6C.

This can be done with a borrowed shuffled deck that does not have to be complete. (The only requirement is that the deck is in decent condition, but it does not have to be a new deck.) There is no stack or prior arrangement necessary. Somebody hands you a deck and you go right into the routine. You ask the spectator to take about a third from the deck, shuffle it at heart's content, then remember the bottom card and burry that pack somewhere in the middle of the remaining portion on the table. This all happens while you look away. You then take the deck behind your back and find the spectator...

No doubt you've seen this formula applied to magic tricks on television specials or internet websites where you've been encouraged to put your finger on any card showing on the screen. Then as you follow the magician's series of instructions - moving your finger from card to adjacent card (with a sense of free choice), the magician begins to inexplicably remove cards on which your finger isn't resting until only one clearly predetermined card remains.

This is an overhand shuffle that allows you to retain cards in their respective half. Say you have all black cards in the top half of the deck and all red cards in the bottom half of the deck. This shuffle will keep all the red and black cards together. But it is not a complete false shuffle, because each half by itself is shuffled. This is a very useful move for effects like Out Of This World, Oil and Water, and other others.
