Girl in Little House Illusion Revisited by Devin Knight & Ulysses Frederick Grant

A mind-boggling illusion that you can do without having to buy expensive props or building stuff yourself. Do it with any two screens at the venue you are performing at. This trick can be done almost anywhere and under almost all conditions.

They know it can't be done and so do you. However, you do it anyhow. This creates the perfect illusion that you have actually squeezed a lady from the audience into a tiny doll house and carried her across the room or stage! Unbelievable, but true.

This is a new and improved version of an old U. F. Grant idea. You have two folding screens on stage...

The Milky Way by Devin Knight & Ulysses Frederick Grant

An extremely rare and little-known U. F. Grant manuscript that is nearly impossible to find nowadays. Devin Knight has taken the original text, revised it and updated it with various annotations for today's performers. He explains and deals with issues that Grant failed to mention in the original release.

This e-book teaches you three great U. F. Grant tricks with a glass of milk! The methods are typical of Grant's thinking.

1-Here & There: A homing milk effect. Show a glass of real milk, cover it with a paper tube. Pour the milk back into a pitcher. When the tube is removed, the glass...

UF Grant's Lost Card Secrets by Devin Knight & Ulysses Frederick Grant

This new e-book contains five of U. F. Grant's forgotten and almost lost card miracles. The first four effects are from a booklet released in 1931 that contained what Grant considered to be his four best card effects. The release was called: Counterfeit Card Miracles. It is very rare and almost impossible to find today. Devin has taken the four effects and updated them and expanded the directions. These are real magician foolers!

#1- A spectator shuffles his own deck of cards and looks at one, remembering what number from the top that card is. For example, he may choose to remember the card...

Massive Fire Bowl Production by Devin Knight & Ulysses Frederick Grant

Available again after being off the market for over 50 years! One of the great effects in magic has been a production of a bowl of fire; but, most of the methods were not sure-fire and were too mechanical or worked with acid and other dangerous methods. Plus the fact that they were always small flat bowls that had to be carried under the magician's coat, etc.

Here is a sure fire non-mechanical or chemical method where the performer does not have to carry a body load and produces a large massive bowl of fire from beneath an unprepared foulard with no secret pockets.

The perfect sensational...

How To Produce A Rabbit by Devin Knight & Ulysses Frederick Grant

No one can really call himself a magician, unless he can pull a rabbit out of a hat. It is the most expected trick in magic today. Even though few magicians do it; you always have kids asking, "Are you going to pull a rabbit out of a hat?"

Potential clients calling about birthday parties, often ask if you can pull a rabbit out of a hat. Some magician's try to pacify the mothers or children using a mirror box production of a rabbit. Good try, but it is not the same. People want to see a rabbit produced from an empty top hat, or even a borrowed hat. If you can do this; you have a big advantage...

Marvelous Devil Illusion by Devin Knight & Ulysses Frederick Grant

This is called the Marvelous Devil Illusion because you will marvel at its cleverness. Imagine producing the Devil, surrounded by a committee from the audiences, under test conditions. This is an almost forgotten U. F. Grant idea that has been revised and updated for today's magicians by Devin Knight.

Here is the original Grant ad copy:

Several people from the audience are invited to step up and surround a cloth cabinet. It is quite empty! While they are still watching the cabinet closely, from all sides, a person dressed up in a devil costume appears inside of same. He takes a bow, steps...

Walking Through a Woman Illusion by Devin Knight & Ulysses Frederick Grant

At last, here is a new illusion effect and one that any performer may own. Yet, here is an illusion which will compete with the best of them and it will not cost you several hundred dollars to own it or even a tenth of that. In my opinion this is more effective than the Interlude Illusion at a fraction of the cost.

EFFECT: Setting at the center of the stage are four chairs, in a row facing the audience. There is a space between the two center chairs wide enough for the performer to walk through. A girl assistant is then placed in a reclining position across the seats of the four chairs....

U. F. Grant's Lost Illusion Secrets Revealed by Devin Knight & Ulysses Frederick Grant

This is the largest collection of U. F. Grant illusions and illusionettes every assembled. It took Devin Knight several years to compile this collection. Grant wrote a few books on illusions such as: 15 Great Illusions, Chinese Magic and Illusions, Modern Levitations, Victory Carton Illusions, Grant's Illusion Secrets, and many others. However, most of the illusions in this PDF were not included in those manuscripts.

Over the years, Grant sold many manuscripts that just contained one illusion along with building plans in most cases. (Some of these were released by Percy Abbott in his catalog without credit to U. F. Grant.) This compilation is a collection of those plans released by Grant and also in the early...

Magician, Ghost and Girl Illusion by Devin Knight & Ulysses Frederick Grant

NOTICE: This is an expanded version of an illusion described in Grant's Lost Illusion Files. It gives you far more information.

Although this illusion can be done year-round, this makes a great illusion for spook shows or Halloween shows. For those affairs, it is the perfect illusion and it would be hard to find an illusion more suited for those occasions.

EFFECT: The magician shows a three-fold screen with a black interior. He forms the screen into a three-sided cabinet with opening at the front. The performer says that he is going spook hunting. As the saying goes, it takes a thief to catch a thief.

The performer...

Grant's Challenge Magic Act by Devin Knight & Ulysses Frederick Grant

Imagine being able to offer a challenge that you will do a trick with any object, any member of the audience might have on them. Yes, you can do just that and with complete safety and no fear of failure.

The advertising and publicity possibilities with this act are unlimited. Challenge your friends or family to stump you. Advertise that if someone in the audience stumps you, then they don't pay your show fee. This will give you a competitive edge over other magicians in your area.

HOW WAS THIS ACT CREATED: At a meeting of the I.B.M, Grant commented to another magician, "Wouldn't it be...

Foolzum Newspaper Tear Revisited by Devin Knight & Ulysses Frederick Grant

A full size sheet of newspaper is handed for examination; both the magician and a spectator sign their names on the front of the newspaper. Without adding anything, the newspaper is openly and deliberately torn-up with the audience plainly seeing the signatures being torn.

After the newspaper is torn into small pieces, the magician blows on the pieces. The rough edges of the paper are seen to get smooth, and upon opening the newspaper out, it is restored. But wait, only half the paper is there. The other half falls to the floor.

The audience thinks they are the torn pieces. The packet...

Improved Devil's Newspaper by Devin Knight & Ulysses Frederick Grant

With this novel production, you can pick up a newspaper lying flat on a table and produce a large load of solid items, even a dove, without body loads.

Many club performers would like to do a large production, but are reluctant to carry the large apparatus usually necessary for such a production. The Devil’s Newspaper is the answer to this problem. Although this item packs flat in your case, it none the less, holds a large load.

This is real appealing magic as a double-sheet of newspaper is seen flat on your table. It is picked up and shown in a slow and deliberate manner. Yet, when...

Grant's Illusion Secrets by Ulysses Frederick Grant

Chuck Smith writes: "Twenty-four illusions as mysterious to audiences today as when they were performed years ago. Most are so easy to construct and execute that a teenager could do them. I know because I, as a student in highschool, built and entertained with several of them. A couple of three fold screens and a large sheet gives you the material for several of the illusions. Recently in a magic periodical I saw an ad for an illusion that looked extremely familiar. It was selling for over $5000. It's method, I'm sure, had it's roots in Grant's Super-Fine Suspension on pages 27-28 of this book....I...

Secrets by Ulysses Frederick Grant

The title "Secrets - Malini, Leipzig, Vernon, Jarrow, ..." suggests a lot, but these are merely the interpretations and versions of U. F. Grant to some of the classics of Malini, Leipzig, Vernon, Jarrow and others. Grant uses only one page to describe each effect and method. This book is therefore to some degree a disappointment. Nevertheless I think it is a cheap way to learn the plots and a method to several of the greatest tricks of all time. Just don't expect very detailed descriptions. Grant displays in this book an arrogant writing style with comments like 'This is good' or "The best method" or "Fools...

Victory Carton Illusions by Ulysses Frederick Grant

Few people consider paper, cardboard and carton high-tech products, but they are. Go visit any paper factory and you will find out that some of the largest and most complex manufacturing machines in operation today are paper machines.

Since my father worked for many years for a paper manufacturer, I have learned to respect paper from a very early age. This is part of the reason why I am so excited about this e-book. It describes 12 stage illusions which you can build entirely from carton. Carton is inexpensive, easy to work with, light weight, pretty durable and packs flat. These are characteristics...

Tricks with Hares by Ulysses Frederick Grant

Perhaps no other effect is so much associated with the magician as that of producing a rabbit from an empty hat. And, oddly enough, so few magicians today use a rabbit in their act.

Where the idea of producing a rabbit from a hat originated is not certain. The favorite story seems to be about the 18th century English woman who felt that she was not getting the attention she deserved. She told her husband and neighbors that she had been accosted by a rabbit and some time latter she took to her bed. The story immediately went out that she had given birth to several rabbits. The story naturally...

Window Stoppers by Ulysses Frederick Grant

This ebook describes store window displays which are magical in one way or another causing pedestrians to stop and look into the window. Once a person stops and looks at the display the chances for them to actually enter the store have dramatically increased.

Several of these contraptions use magic principles. One can think of them as magic apparatus displayed in action. Although these displays could be employed by pretty much any store, I would think that they would be most appropriate in the window of a real magic store. I have never seen any magic store use anything like this. An innovative...

Nu Way Out Of This World by Ulysses Frederick Grant

A wonderful self-working rendition of the classic "Out Of This World" effect. This was the first real card trick I saw - and I was baffled.

A borrowed deck is shuffled. A red and a black card are placed face up on the table. The performer then removes cards, one at a time from the deck. Without the spectator seeing the faces of these cards, he indicates whether he thinks a card is a red or a black. If he thinks it is a red card, the performer places it, face down, on the face up red card. If the spectator thinks it is a black card, the performer places it face down on the face up black card....
