Gun Card Location

A completely impromptu card routine.

The magician takes out the Ace of Spades, framing it as a bullet, then assembles the deck into the shape of a gun. The spectator freely inserts the Ace of Spades anywhere in the "gun," representing the bullet being loaded into the chamber.

The magician then has the spectator freely cut the deck and remember a card. Finally, the deck is reassembled into the gun and bullet. The spectator's selection shoots out of the deck like a fired bullet.

Performance transcript:

• This trick requires a little imagination
• Here I have the Ace of Spades — imagine it's a bullet
• The shape even looks like a bullet, right
• Now if we have a bullet, we also need a gun
• So I interlace the two halves of the deck and turn one packet sideways
• It looks like a simple handgun
• The spectator holds onto the bullet
• As I riffle, call stop anywhere you like and place the bullet into the gun
• Let's say the spectator stops me here
• The bullet goes inside
• Then the deck is placed on the table
• The spectator cuts a small packet to the center, then another to the side
• I have the spectator shuffle the middle packet
• After shuffling, remember the top card
• The cards are reassembled with a few more cuts
• The spectator freely cuts the cards and remembers a random card
• Everything is completely mixed
• Under these conditions, I'll try to locate the selection
• Earlier, there was a bullet placed somewhere in the deck
• So now I'll reassemble the gun using the same setup as before
• Once again, the two halves are interlaced together and one packet is turned sideways so it resembles a gun again
• This is the bullet
• I chamber the bullet back into the deck
