This is a reputation maker routine. It uses a regular deck of cards and it is totally impromptu. You show the four Kings and four black cards. The Kings are placed one by one among the black cards. They disappear and reappear in one packet. Then the Kings are paired up with the four black cards. The Kings disappear and you are left with eight black cards. Finally, you produce the Kings one by one using different stunning methods. Over a dozen effects!

Jack Spade is a private investigator trying to solve the case of the stolen diamond ring. Told through the revelations of a pack of playing cards, this is a story-deck routine that acts as the finish to Stephen's close-up, parlour and stage shows.

Each card is produced from within the deck in time with the narrative. Stephen goes through several versions of the effect, the stack, the false shuffles, the revelations, secret marks, extra cards and all the gags - everything.

Its a card trick with every card in the deck and its a superb finish to any magicians set.

On August 2nd, 1982, Martin Breese organized a John Mendoza lecture, which was taped for later release as a video. But Martin being the busy publisher he was had so many other projects to work on that he never got around releasing this recording. We rescued the recording from two old Umatic tapes Martin gave to me. Since this was recorded in the early 80s do not expect a high definition video. But it is nevertheless a good recording of Mendoza's lecture. The video has some flaws here and there with stripes, ghost images, and an occasional blackout. The audio track has no noticeable blackouts or problems....

John's card magic is full of new handling and creativity, that allows him to present very strong card routines which are relatively simple to perform. John will soon be a new star in the firmament of card magic.

Here you have a unique cups and balls routine created by Ken Brooke, using just three cups and three balls with a surprising climax: The production of a fruit or vegetable. This routine is not difficult to do and is performed by Cameron Francis as part of the Aldo Colombini Tribute series.

This is probably the best routine ever created for the Okito Box. In the hands of the legendary Ken Brooke, this routine was a masterpiece. The effect, briefly is: A coin is in the box which is placed on top of a cardbox. The coin penetrates the cardbox. The effect is repeated. Then the coin disappears and reappears inside the box. These four cards are inserted into the middle of the blue-backed deck. Now you remove four blue cards, show them to be indifferent and insert them into the red deck.
