An offbeat effect, the head of a stick man that's drawn on a signed business card moves across the paper to another location. Effects where a drawing changes are always crowd pleasers. This one requires a flame from a cigarette lighter.

The principle, which was entirely new to me, is ingenious and allows you to create all kinds of variations. The underlying principle essentially allows you to vanish a drawing or piece of drawing at will. You can even draw in several colors. I already have a few ideas that I will explore. This is Alan Rorrison's solution to the Hofzinser Ace Problem.

A spectator freely chooses any card and signs it. The card is put face down between the two Jokers and these three cards (Jokers and spectator selection) are tabled. Then the spectator or another spectator selects four random cards from the face down spread. Magically the four chosen cards are the four aces. The ace with the same color as the spectator's card vanishes and reappears between the Jokers. The signed spectator selection is now found among the three remaining aces.

This is a beautiful ring-card linking effect.

Spectator freely chooses a card which he signs. Performer hole punches the signed card and magically attaches and then magically removes a ring. The hole punched card can be handed out for inspection.

The magician says he has a prediction written which he will get back to. A card is selected, noted and lost back into the pack. The magician says he will make the selection jump to the top of the deck. It is the wrong card. The magician shows his written prediction. It doesn't match the top card, but it is the selected card predicted ahead of time. The magician places the indifferent card into the spectator's hand. He waves his business card over the indifferent card. It visually morphs into the indifferent card. Spectator opens their hands. they are now holding their selected card.

You show a little notepad where an empty drawn window is depicted. Have a spectator pick a card and mentally tear off a corner. You now throw or cascade the cards towards the notepad and suddenly the chosen card is seen behind the window. However, a corner is missing. Snap your fingers over the missing corner and it appears behind the window.

The two Jokers are removed from the deck. Two cards are then selected. One by one the selections are placed between the Jokers and are then stretched to twice their length.

Now, both cards are placed between the Jokers after which they fuse into one examinable two-faced card that can be given to the spectator as a keepsake.

Finally the other cards are tossed onto the table and are seen to have become totally blank!

In Turbulence, the impossible becomes possible.

Turbulence is a multi-phase card routine that is both mind-bending and entertaining.

Effect:

Turbulence kicks off with a sizzling and super clean "Collectors" phase where four Kings instantly collect three previously signed cards. Then, in the blink of an eye, the three cards instantly vanish. The three cards are then reproduced as they are summoned from the deck one by one. Finally, the Kings are placed in your pocket and an impossible transposition occurs — the Kings are suddenly found on the table while the three signed cards are...

The ultimate ungaffed wild card - use any deck.

The original version of this routine was called Born to be Wild (from Inspirations). Peter has enjoyed performing the original over the years, for lay people AND magicians, but the fact that he couldn't show the last card always bothered him. Three pre-folded cards are tipped from a card box and displayed as being a QH and two blank cards. The three cards are folded to conceal their faces and arranged in a row on the table ready for the classic Find The Lady. Having mixed the positions of the three cards, the one that should be the QH is opened to reveal it is in fact one of the blanks. That’s surprise no. 1. Surprise no. 2 comes when the other two cards are unfolded to reveal they are both blanks as well! The QH has completely disappeared. Two sets of five ESP cards are freely displayed, one set with red backs, the other with blue. The red set is given to the spectator who shuffles them, the magician mixing the blue set. One at a time the performer places his cards face down onto the table and each time the spectator then places one of his cards at random next to the performer's. When the pairs of cards are turned face up, all five sets are seen to have been put down in matching pairs!

This is a straightforward version of the classic Lie Detector routine that can be performed with any deck (even a borrowed one) and with no advance setup.

A deck is shuffled by a spectator to put the cards into a genuinely random order, and the performer then extracts one card which he leaves sight unseen in view on the table. The magician then asks a spectator three questions about the tabled card, and the helper is invited to make up his answers (since he doesn't know at this stage what the tabled card actually is). Whatever answers the participant gives, the performer spells the word...

Two for the price of one here as with Credit Transfer you get a mental effect and a piece of magic together. A borrowed credit card is slipped into a small envelope. Two paperback books are shown and the pages are riffled of one of the books until a spectator calls 'stop'. The credit card in the envelope is dropped into the book to mark the place. The second book is now opened to reveal an envelope is already inside it, and the page it rests on turns out to match the page just selected in the first book. A fast-paced series of color changes. Blank cards turn into Jacks, change their backs twice, revert to blank cards, and then for the climax they turn into Jokers.

You will need some double-blank cards, Jacks with different backs, and Jokers with matching backs.

This is a revised version of the classic Parade Of The Kings packet trick from the 1970s.

Four blue-backed cards are counted face down and the performer explains that these are the four Kings. Two spectators between them decide on one of the Kings. Immediately the magician spreads the cards to reveal the chosen King has now magically turned face up.

But there is a further surprise when the back of this King is shown to have also now changed to red.

Then there is a final kicker when the other three face-down Kings are turned face up to reveal they are in fact three blank-faced cards...

You show two cards, one of which has a big hole in the center. You put them together and suddenly the non-hole card has transformed into a stack of banknotes.
