$5 Misdirection for MagiciansDariel Fitzkee ... - and not a book of tricks, it does incidentally give some explanations which will interest many readers. It is a 67-page poorly mimeographed pamphlet, bound in soft boards. We do not regard it as by any means the "last word" on the subject. Indeed, we hope that Mr. Fitzkee himself will some day soon undertake to revise and enlarge his book, and that it may then be printed and bound in a manner befitting a work of such importance. In the meantime, the book in its present form is deserving of careful study. It may provide just the information the reader needs to make "that trick" perfectly... $15 Nelson Enterprises Manuscript Collection 4Robert A. Nelson ... and effects from the Nelson Enterprises catalog, now updated and edited for a new generation of performers:
The Thunderbolt Deck - Nelson's answer for what could be the perfect mechanical deck. As easy to use as a Svengali, but no funny riffles or tapping the ends of the deck. You can make one up yourself. (NE Cat. #31)
Spirit Rope Ties - Three effective rope ties to use for pseudo-mediumistic stunts or for a comedy effect where, no matter how securely a spectator tries to tie you, you are free almost instantly. Yet, you can be shown to still be tied as before. (NE #119)

The Jordan effect, "The 1923 Card And Handkerchief Trick" can be found in The Sign of Exceptional Magic. The four queens, placed to the four corners of a handkerchief, travel one by one through the handkerchief and assemble.
The method involves a number of gaffed cards. Each gaff is made up of two cards which are hinged together with a cigarette paper. In theory, this double card looks like a single card. By pushing the top card sideways, the second card of the pair... $10 The Magical Mail (1921)Arthur Ivey A short lived house organ of Arthur Ivey and Co. from Islington, London, UK. $10 History of Conjuring and MagicHenry Ridgely Evans ... on July 3, 1845, a veritable renaissance of conjuring was inaugurated. Robert-Houdin undoubtedly was the Father of Modern Conjuring, for he was the first performer to enunciate the psychology of magic and lay down the fundamental principles of the art. Others have taken up the subject since his day, and given us some really brilliant dissertations; such authors, for example, as Angelo Lewis (our beloved Professor Hoffmann), Nevil Maskelyne and David Devant, Prof. Brander Matthews, and last, but not least, Dr. Harlan Tarbell, whose Course in Magic goes to the very bed-rock of conjuring.

★★★★★ $15 Dancing with the CardsMichael Breggar ... Your Fears. Steinmeyer meets Freud. Your spectator looks through 25 cards which list common phobias. They find the thing that frightens them the most. After a complete shuffle of fears, they spell out the name of two phobias (which may or may not be theirs) -- but in the end, they wind up with the one card that correctly names their phobia. All the phobias are different and spell with different numbers of letters. Psychologically astounding (and assuredly upsetting).

Who among us is not familiar with injogs and outjogs? Since the days of Erdnase, these very handy adjuncts have helped enable magicians to turn out miraculous feats of card magic.
Card man Ian Baxter offers up an unusual use for the humble injog here in his latest manuscript. This is the venerable 'STOP' trick with a difference and you will be most impressed. Positively no complicated sleights or outrageous moves in this strictly commercial adaptation of a classic. Don't pass this one up!

Master Sealed Message Reading... ★★★★★ $0 Why Magic? Why Me? F.U.N. Presentation SeriesKen Muller Mostly conjuring applications. Magic theory.
This is a collection of experience thoughts about performance magic. What is magic? What role does it play in our culture? What does impossible mean today? The theme is being "more than able" in live as well as pretending at the impossible on stage. Each section and page is meant to inspire reflective musing on one's abilities and limitations. Together they provide a mirror in which each magician can view self and chosen magical effects in a different light or perspective. They are not a formula for self-improvement.

In March 2022 there was a unique gathering of professional magicians in Sydney Australia. Joel Howlett was one of the lecturers on the bill and he discussed performing exciting visual magic that caters to modern audiences who have shortening attention spans.
Participants were invited to take an honest look at the effects they were using before the COVID pandemic and reassess if they might be a little slow-moving for today's audiences. This PDF is a brief outline of the points discussed.
1st edition 2022, PDF 7 pages. $12 Balloon Animals and how to make themJames A. Payne From the preface:
This book has been written with the idea of presenting some different types of balloon items and to give some ideas to the walk-around clown. All of them have been audience-tested.
In the past I have read where one must be able to turn out a set number of balloon animals per hour or they will be in trouble. Nothing could be further from the truth. For years I have clowned at Shopping Centers and Picnics and, although I don't turn out more than sixty balloon animals per hour at my fastest pace, I still please the crowds at the places I appear and worked at one shopping... $8 Magical Object MessagesRev.
