A thread that penetrates stuff, your hand, your thumb, a playing card ...

The performer shows a piece of thread that hangs down from his hand. A playing card is held with the other hand behind the thread. With one smooth motion, the thread penetrates the card and is suddenly behind the playing card. It is hard to believe your eyes.

The gimmick is easy to make and there are no bad angles. This looks as good from the back as it does from the front.

The performer caught without props, grabs a piece of paper and writes down a prediction, which is entrusted to an audience member for safekeeping. He explains that he anticipated such a situation, recounting how he shuffled a deck of cards weeks ago, then dealt them one by one on a table while being filmed.

He proceeds to play the recorded video, demonstrating how it can be paused and resumed. He holds his cell phone with the screen facing down. A participant pauses the video at any point, and flips the phone over to reveal a playing card on the screen....

This effect is hard to describe. It's a very unusual version of the classic mismade bill in which the bill is folded in half then you cause the crease in the bill to move to a different edge. When the bill is unfolded you have a very unusual looking bill. Fold it in quarters and move the new crease to another edge and the bill looks even more unusual. Then you return everything back to normal and return the bill to it's owner.
