Cut It Out

The spectator is asked to cut a regular packet of cards and to complete the cut by placing the bottom half on top. The performer ribbon spreads the cards face-down onto the table, inviting the spectator to slide any card from within the spread. The selection is at this stage kept face-down with its identity remaining unknown.

This is a system that you can use with different card values, for example AS and 8D. Instant disappearance and appearance of suits on the card, but it can also be a change of color of suits or transformation. Easy to do, easy to perform. No reset. The tutorial demonstrates two methods of how you can make this gimmick.

A modern version of this classic gaffed card. Detailed are the two methods: splitting cards and printing them yourself to achieve this mysterious effect. Included is a self-printed example. This card has a matte finish that is enhanced by the candlelight used to effect the transformation. This is a remarkable illusion that takes no skill and differs greatly from Hofzinser's original construction. As seen in the video, the image seems to melt from one card value to another. Simple in construction.

A spectator selects a card (yes, this is a force) and magically the card appears inside a sealed bottle. The bottle can be handed out as souvenir.

Ralf explains in detail how the gimmick is made, works, and is deployed. You will need some supplies you will likely not have lying around the house, but these are all easy to get. This is meant for parlor or stage use. You will need about 3 meters distance to the spectators.

Perhaps the cleanest coin disappearance. You will also learn production, change, and transposition. Watch your angles. It is not so easy to deploy the simple gimmick (which you have lying around in your home) during a performance, but it allows for a really clean vanish and reappearance of a coin.

Look carefully because this effect is a real fooler. I have shown it to many magicians, and no one of them had a clue. This is the perfect end to your sandwich card routine. It looks like real magic. The two queens inexplicably approach each other inside the card case to capture the card signed by the spectator. It looks amazing! Really easy to do. This is a delightful departure from the standard card effect due to its ingenious patter line and startling conclusion. First conceived in the 1970s, the visual of four "cannibal" cards devouring a pair of "missionary" cards stands out in the memory of spectators. A welcomed addition to your bag of tricks.

The spectator's cut to the four sandwiches is a succession of magical effects. The magician takes his two lucky cards from the deck: the two of hearts and the two of diamonds. The spectator examines the two cards. The magician shuffles the deck and asks the spectator to cut it into four piles. This is where the fun part begins. Each time the magician approaches the two lucky cards to one of the piles, a card will mysteriously appear between the two lucky cards. This is an effect that Joseph is very proud of. When this was released, it fooled top card magicians because of its diabolical method. There really seems to be no explanation. The magician is able to find the card chosen by the spectator under extremely tight conditions. The performer always looks away, and the deck will be completely shuffled by the spectator. All this with a normal deck of cards. Joseph has cleverly combined two known methods to create a strong routine.

Just Absurd is an incredible effect halfway between an ACAAN and an impossible location. The magician shuffles the deck. The spectator cuts one third of the deck, remembers the bottom card, and loses his packet somewhere in the middle of the deck. At the end, the spectator himself will be able to find the position of the chosen card. Everything under impossible conditions; it will be the spectator who will find his own card.

The principle is diabolical, really impressive. Absolutely a fooler. Includes an in-depth explanation.
