This is a completely impromptu ACAAN. The spectator names any number and freely remembers a random card. In the end, the remembered card appears exactly at the named position.

However, I prefer to think of it as a card control system - a method for controlling a merely remembered card to any desired position with no setup whatsoever. Without question, this concept can take your card magic to the next level.

Performance transcript:

  • This is an impromptu ACAAN routine.
  • The deck can be thoroughly shuffled at the start. No setup required.
  • Have the spectator freely name a number.
  • Let's say they name 31.
  • Ask the spectator to cut off a small packet and secretly count how many cards are in it.
  • 6 cards.
  • Now show the cards one by one.
  • Have the spectator remember the card at the position matching their cut number.
  • For example, if they cut 5 cards, they remember the 5th card.
  • Since they cut 6 cards, they remember the 6th card.
  • Have them memorize that card.
  • You can ask if they've got it.
  • Once the card is remembered, stop showing cards.
  • Then give the deck a shuffle.
  • To recap: The spectator freely cut a packet and counted the cards.
  • They remembered the card at that corresponding position.
  • Since I don't know how many cards they cut, there's no way for me to know which card they remembered.
  • Yet they freely named 31 at the beginning.
  • That number will locate their card.
  • The 31st card is the selection.
  • Count down to the 31st card.
  • The spectator named 31 from the start, and it successfully locates their 9D.
