Rub-a-Dub DigestJon Racherbaumer![Rub-a-Dub Digest by Jon Racherbaumer](images/180/rub-a-dub-digest.jpg)
ABOUT RUB-A-DUB: The rhyme is of a type calling out otherwise respectable people for disrespectable actions, in this case, ogling naked ladies - the maids. The nonsense "Rub-a-dub-dub" develops a phonetic association of social disapprobation, analogous to "tsk-tsk," albeit of a more lascivious variety.
The Rub-a-Dub Move's inauspicious beginning began in 1909 at a time when, relatively speaking, magicians had a limited number of utilitarian sleights and techniques at their disposal. Besides, the Rub-a-Dub Move happened in
the blink of an eye and was only an offbeat way to make a card disappear.

Bernstein on Number PredictionsBruce Bernstein![Bernstein on Number Predictions by Bruce Bernstein](images/180/bernstein-on-number-predictions.jpg) As the title says, this is an overview of the subject, impromptu and otherwise. For the really sincere mentalism worker, a carefully worked out ebook on the subject. Several spectators are asked to choose numbers at random, which are then added together in a totally random manner. Yet in spite of the fact that the mentalist could have no idea what numbers would be chosen, and couldn't control what order they would be added up in, when his prediction is shown, it is seen that he was somehow able to predict the exact total!
From the early methods of accomplishing this miracle, to the most recent... | ★★★★★ $8.95 to wish listPDF & EPUB |

Miracle Shuffles and Tricks: Miracle Methods No. 2Jean Hugard & Fred Braue ![Miracle Shuffles and Tricks: Miracle Methods No. 2 by Jean Hugard & Fred Braue](images/180/mm2_miracle_shuffles_and_tricks.jpg) A treatise on the science and art of the stock, cull, odd-number, and cull-stock shuffles. Presenting the Braue system, bringing these useful stratagems within the reach of every performer, together with a full description of a number of brilliant card feats made possible by this amazingly simple system.
Paul Fleming wrote:
When Hugard and Braue's Miracle Methods made its appearance some six months ago, we had no warning that it would be followed so promptly by Miracle Methods No.2, so that the publication of this latest Hugard-Braue collaboration comes in the nature of a pleasant surprise. Definitive Slip CutJon Racherbaumer![Definitive Slip Cut by Jon Racherbaumer](images/180/definitive_slip_cut.jpg) Slip Cuts play a vital role in "Cutting to the Aces," a presentation auspiciously introduced in Stars of Magic (1946). Dai Vernon's handling sparked lots of interest when it first appeared, providing strong incentive to master the Slip Cut. Cardini, who also knew a great trick when he saw one, strongly endorsed Vernon's presentation:
"To lovers of outstanding card magic I heartily recommend 'Cutting the Aces.' It is showy and mystifying, more so than you would think a card trick could possibly be."
Therefore, this treatise begins with explanations of three versions of Ace-Cutting. This may induce... | ★★★★★ $15 to wish listPDF |

A card is chosen, sight unseen, and the magician is challenged to cut to the three mates of the unknown card from a shuffled deck. He succeeds in cutting to three mates, but it is discovered in the end that they do not match the value of the selected card.
