... of the Texas Association of Magicians and twice received the Ren Clark Award. In 1996, his one man parade for the Linking Ring magazine won both first and second prize awards. Gerald considers himself fortunate to have worked with many talented and well-known artists of the past, including Dai Vernon, J.B. Bobo and Lee Grabel.
Gerald holds a Master's degree from Texas Tech University and studied at the University of the Americas in Mexico City. The Fort Worth Star Telegram described him as, “one of the top sleight-of-hand experts . . . a phenomenal artist . . . a sleight-of-hand virtuoso.” He retired from full-time performing in 2015 and moved to Arkansas to be near his family. | |
Two Vernon Classics & Revisiting the Overhand Lift ShuffleGerald Edmundson
Some aficionados consider Dai Vernon's "Out of Sight-Out of Mind" from More Inner Secrets of Card Magic the best mindreading trick with an ordinary deck of cards. They may be right. Since the spectator does not remove a card from the deck but only thinks of a card, it makes a terrific mindreading trick. Erdnase explores the principle in "A Mindreading Trick" in Expert at the Card Table. Vernon used the principle to construct his trick.
Gerald keeps the exact effect of Vernon's original trick. In "Only in Your Mind", he uses adaptations of the Overhand Lift Shuffle and constructs a completely different handling of the trick. In keeping with the... | ★★★★★ $15 to wish listPDF |

Triplets 7Gregg Webb... do this feat. I once saw Kreskin do it with cat toys. Of course, billets come to mind. But there are many day-to-day objects that can be used, and your choice will affect the atmosphere of your piece.
Moving along, I will explore some lesser-known ploys and updates which can be applied to the Vernon 5 Card Psychological Force, which is actually done wrongly by many otherwise well-posted magicians. Finally, I explore the idea of doing Equivoque and the Vernon 5 at the same time with 2 identical packets and achieving synchronicity.

The Ultimate Angle Proof VanishHal Saxon
This can be the most powerfully deceptive steal or vanish in your thumb tip arsenal. No, it is not the Slydini Back Steal or the Vernon Kick Steal.
"This is the best 10 minutes of thumb tip magic ever! Thank you so much Hal." - Kim Fitzpatrick
The Ultimate Angle Proof Vanish video is by far the number one video download I have ever offered on the thumb tip. This is an incredibly deceptive, under your nose steal or vanish for not just a silk, but anything you can possibly fit in a thumb tip. Performed slow and with no wacky hand movements or gestures or crazy sleights; I believe this is the best... | ★★★★★ $15 to wish listMP4 (video) |
Conjuring Trix and Jardine Ellis Ring EffexHans Trixer... many contributions to magazines is already well known to magicians in this and other countries. His penchant is for the smaller type of magic, and amongst the group in Holland which devotes much of its time to this special branch of magic, Hans was paid the tribute of being called Holland's ' Dai Vernon'. Certainly, on those occasions when I have had the privilege of seeing him work, his assuredness coupled with skill showed that he was that rarity - the magician who is born and not made.

Tarbell CourseHarlan Tarbell... magician. I collected mine a number of years ago, 8 volumes at over $30.00 a volume. I've read the complete set a couple times and cannot count how often I've turned to them for information. Tarbell wrote his course over a period of years and he had contribution from everyone from Houdini to Dai Vernon. Charlie Miller, Blackstone, Keller, Silent Mora, and more all represented in the original course. In the later volumes written by Harry Loryne (and NOT in the ebook version as you'll note later, which is no biggie) even has a routine by a young Davino, later to become David Copperfield. The GenHarry Stanley & Lewis Ganson ... discovered magicians from around the world; he either published books by them, sold their tricks and routines at the Unique Magic Studio or brought them to London to give lectures. He raised the standard of magic in the UK by introducing us to performers of the calibre of Slydini, Fred Kaps and Dai Vernon. Name any magician of note from Ed Marlo to Chan Canasta and Hans Trixer and you will find them featured in The Gen.
