Most magicians and mentalists are aware of the mental logs trick. Although built on a great principle, it has mostly been a mathematical novelty where the utmost you can display is your math wizardry.
The scope of X Ray Mental Logs is quite large. Without using actual mental logs and even without mentioning the mental logs, using just 3 pre printed cards, you can engage a parlor size audience for about 30 minutes with different effects and routines.

... Diez Gergonne was a French mathematician and logician specializing in geometry. In 1791, he enlisted in the French army as a captain. In 1795, he took up the chair of transcendental mathematics at the new École centrale.
In 1810, he founded his own journal on mathematics named Annales de mathématiques pures et appliquées aka Annales de Gergonne. There, he published almost 200 articles by himself.
In 1813, he analyzed a mathematical card trick called the "27 Card Trick", generalized it, and explained the underlying mathematics.
In 1816, he was appointed the chair of astronomy at the University of Montpellier, and in 1830, he assumed the Rector position. He retired in 1844. ★★★★★ $8 The NTE PrincipleRonald Levy & Devin Knight ... their deck into a smart deck. People cut off a block of cards and look at the bottom card and replace it. They are told a simple step to take to program the deck. Once they do this, they tell the deck to find their card now. They tap the top card of the deck and it is their selected card. No math to do. Everything is done in a slow clean cut manner. Cards are repeatedly shuffled during the effect.
People are told to call the station if they found their cards and the phones ring off the hook. Positively amazing and will get you booked on many radio shows when you tell the producer you... ★★★★★ $10 Impromptu MentalismRay Grismer
Impromptu mentalism is usually improvised but certain effects may be prepared in advance if they are presented as impromptu ideas. Somewhat like the comic who memorizes thousands of one-liners and seems to create them off the top of his head.

Most magicians and mentalists are aware of the mental logs trick. Although built on a great principle, it has mostly been a mathematical novelty where the utmost you can display is your math wizardry.
Invisible Mental Logs now takes this math novelty into the realm of impossible miracle phenomenon where you can perform this as a masterful mind reading stunner. This can now be a big important part of your main set or can even be performed as a powerful closer.
A punch-packed 5-phase routine and a killer bonus routine are explained. However you can choose to perform any one, two or three... (December 13th, 1948 - )
Werner Miller is a retired math teacher living in Austria. He has created literally hundreds of math-based magic tricks. His primary interest is recreational math and applying it to puzzles and magic. He has contributed countless articles to a number of magic journals including Magische Welt, Zauberkunst, Aladin, Genii, Magigram, Club 71, and others.
He won the 1989 and 1992 Tenyo Magic Competition each with a Flash Dice Routine. $25 Confessions of Dr. CrowBob Cassidy Most cyclical stacks are based on either mathematical progressions (Si Stebbins) or nonsense rhymes ("Eight Kings" and John Mulholland''s "Hungry Jackass.") And the best part is, to perform this, the performer need not know any stacks at all. No memory work. No math work. Only polished presentation and pure showmanship.
"IMHO it is a very valuable book with new views and observations in the Si Stebbins field. You describe 8 not 6 stacks. Very Interesting! A few of Eddie's books, like Eddie's Dumbfounders With Cards, are of dubious quality. The cover boasts: No Sleights!
No Skill!
No Moves! NO FUN! Reading Eddie's Dumbfounders With Cards by Eddie Joseph made me feel like I time-traveled back to my high-school remedial math class. Here's how I solve a math equation:
1. Read the problem
2. Cry Mathematical card tricks are supposed to be fun to learn, not dull. Many of Eddie's dumbfounders are long and tedious, with endless dealing and counting cards. Joseph's old-timey prose was challenging to understand. At best,... ★★★★★ $10 Magicians Own BookWiljalba Frikell The authorship of this book is not entirely clear, but Frikell is a likely author of at least good parts of the book. However, most likely it is a compilation of material from different sources with potentially a number of editors and compilers. Some of the other names associated with this book are H.L. Williams, George Arnold, Frank Cahill, and John Wyman, Jr. The book covers not only magic tricks of various kinds, but also a lot of what we would call today "kitchen table top experiments" in fields ranging from mechanical and chemical to optical, math and others. It also features a section... ★★★★★ $20 Entropy DroppingJan Bardi ... stronger, smarter, more diverse, much different, and more impressive.
Jan Bardi, I'm totally fascinated by your book.
Reviewed by Richard Burbage I have been a fan of magic based on mathematical principles for years, especially those that can be easily concealed so there is no obvious connection to math for the spectator to grasp. For that reason, I thoroughly enjoyed learning from "Entropy Dropping". The author has taken a well-worn principle and twisted it into a new direction, or at least is looking at it from a perspective I have not come across before. ★★★★★ $22.50 The Fleetwood NotesMarc Paul ... at Marc's stuff, I had completely ignored mentalism effects that relied on mathematics, "mathemagic" effects, if you will. I thought that they were too tansparent, long-winded, and boring. Not any more. London's effect is brilliant but requires either gimmickry or an ability to not screw up mental math when the pressure is on. Marc eliminates both problems because if there's one thing I've seen from Marc is that he will always figure out the simplest, most foolproof way of doing something. (If I could summarize the Marc Paul philosophy, it would be something like, "Why worry about doing a tricky... $12 Sub Rosa 9Werner Miller More new math-based and self-working magic tricks from Werner Miller.
