This is an extension of the Martin Gardner poker deal from Royal Road to Card Magic including ideas from Simon Aronson and John Bannon.

This effect starts out with a quick transformation. Two spectators select four cards in total. These four cards visually and instantly change to the four kings. Then Allan demonstrates how a cheat would stack a deck to achieve an advantage. The final climax is a Royal Flush dealt to himself and three kings to one of the spectators.

Here are two effects that use easy-to-make gimmicks which can be added to your regular deck.

FLASHPOINT is a sensational card routine with a topological flavor. Two cards, an Ace and a King, magically change places. The performer offers to repeat the effect under more stringent conditions. The King is placed on the table and covered with the performer's wallet. The Ace is placed between two blank cards. The Ace is visible through two holes cut in the middle of the blank cards yet, at the performer's command, it instantly and visibly disappears. When the wallet is lifted from the table the...

A card at any number! But the number is predicted in advance! Watch the demo video below.

The performer removes a card that has plenty of white space on its face from the deck – say, the Two of Hearts - and writes a prediction on the face of this card with a marker pen. The prediction is left face down on the table. A spectator now selects a card from the deck (say the JS), after which the card is lost back into the deck. The deck is now given to a second spectator who - only now - names ANY number. To keep the routine moving along you suggest he thinks of any number between 1 and 30. He...

Imagine:

The magician introduces a deck of cards. The spectator can thoroughly examine it, after which they can freely shuffle it for as long as they want in any way that they want.

Once they're done shuffling, the magician invites them to look through the deck (faces towards themself, backs towards the magician) and select any two cards that they like. Let's suppose they select the two black A's. They turn these face-up and leave them on the table.

Cut It Out

The spectator is asked to cut a regular packet of cards and to complete the cut by placing the bottom half on top. The performer ribbon spreads the cards face-down onto the table, inviting the spectator to slide any card from within the spread. The selection is at this stage kept face-down with its identity remaining unknown.

The packet is once again gathered up before the spectator is asked to again cut the deck into two piles. The position cut to is marked by placing the lower half of the deck onto the upper at a right angle. The selected card...

The Double Whammy is a fun and easy card effect that hits hard. I wanted a card routine that I could do anytime with a borrowed deck.
