Mark Leveridge
3 Card Con by Mark Leveridge

Three pre-folded cards are tipped from a card box and displayed as being a QH and two blank cards. The three cards are folded to conceal their faces and arranged in a row on the table ready for the classic Find The Lady. Having mixed the positions of the three cards, the one that should be the QH is opened to reveal it is in fact one of the blanks. That’s surprise no. 1. Surprise no. 2 comes when the other two cards are unfolded to reveal they are both blanks as well! The QH has completely disappeared. Surprise no. 3 is revealed when the QH is found folded inside the card box that has been...

Mark Leveridge
Impromptu Lie Detector by Mark Leveridge

This is a straightforward version of the classic Lie Detector routine that can be performed with any deck (even a borrowed one) and with no advance setup.

A deck is shuffled by a spectator to put the cards into a genuinely random order, and the performer then extracts one card which he leaves sight unseen in view on the table. The magician then asks a spectator three questions about the tabled card, and the helper is invited to make up his answers (since he doesn't know at this stage what the tabled card actually is). Whatever answers the participant gives, the performer spells the word...

Parade of the Kings Revisited by Mark Leveridge

This is a revised version of the classic Parade Of The Kings packet trick from the 1970s.

Four blue-backed cards are counted face down and the performer explains that these are the four Kings. Two spectators between them decide on one of the Kings. Immediately the magician spreads the cards to reveal the chosen King has now magically turned face up.

But there is a further surprise when the back of this King is shown to have also now changed to red.

Then there is a final kicker when the other three face-down Kings are turned face up to reveal they are in fact three blank-faced cards...

Trance Fusion by Peter Duffie

The two Jokers are removed from the deck. Two cards are then selected. One by one the selections are placed between the Jokers and are then stretched to twice their length.

Now, both cards are placed between the Jokers after which they fuse into one examinable two-faced card that can be given to the spectator as a keepsake.

Finally the other cards are tossed onto the table and are seen to have become totally blank!

Based on brilliant ideas by Peter Kane, Richard Kaufman, David Arthur & Gene Maze, this is a killer. Watch the demo below.

Kolor Killer by Peter Duffie

Roy Walton's Classic Oil & Queens on Speed!

The basis for this multi-climax routine is Roy Walton’s Oil & Queens. In the mid 70’s Peter developed a variation on the original Walton effect whereby the cards turned blank at the end. However, Jon Racherbaumer beat him to the punch when he published the same variation. The following routine is based on the blank routine but has an additional kicker stage that was not in any previous version. Peter has also added Kings to match the Queens. Also, there is no Hamman Count in this version.

Dark Angel by Peter Duffie

This stunning two-part routine has no sleights and nothing to remember except the simple handling, and it leaves the deck ready for a repeat performance. What can you wish more?

After explaining that - not unlike humans - each playing card has a guardian angel that watches over it, you show a 6" x 4" card (can be laminated) that has a full deck of 52 cards printed on it - blacks on one side - reds on the other. These, you claim are the guardians. Against each card is another random card - these are the cards over which the guardians watch. This card is called "the card of the guardians" and...

You show a set of JUMBO cards (or you can use regular cards) which you mix and give to a spectator, face up. The spectator, with the cards in his hands, now selects any one. This is a completely free choice! No Force.

Meanwhile you have been telling the audience that this packet of large cards contains both positive and negative energies. With a card chosen, you take the remaining cards and turn them face down and clearly show the backs of these cards - printed in bold lettering on each card is: NO - NO - NO and NO! .... A card is selected from your deck and placed face down on the table. You now show four cards that are clearly blank on all sides. These are placed on the table and the spectator places his hand flat on top. You wave the selection over his hand – he then lifts his hand – the packet is spread and a duplicate of his card has mysteriously appeared in the middle of the four blanks. But the image doesn’t last long and suddenly disappears leaving a totally blank card. Finally you drop the selected card onto the packet – again the spectator places his hand flat on top. Bringing out your deck, you offer to show the audience a wonderful Ace trick, and so you remove the four Aces and hold them face down. One by one the Aces magically turn face up. Turbulence by Peter Duffie & Cameron Francis

In Turbulence, the impossible becomes possible.

Turbulence is a multi-phase card routine that is both mind-bending and entertaining.

Effect:

Turbulence kicks off with a sizzling and super clean "Collectors" phase where four Kings instantly collect three previously signed cards. Then, in the blink of an eye, the three cards instantly vanish. The three cards are then reproduced as they are summoned from the deck one by one. Finally, the Kings are placed in your pocket and an impossible transposition occurs — the Kings are suddenly found on the table while the three signed cards are...

VapoRise by Peter Duffie

"Power-Trip Sparkling, Turbulence Brilliant and VapoRise Amazing. Three excellent card tricks. Well done - keep up the good work." - Thomas Connelly (UK)

You offer to present a magic show using seven cards. You show an Ace, Two, Three and Four plus three Jokers. The A 2 3 & 4 are the performers. The Ace, you say, is the lightest card because it has the least ink on it, whereas the Four is the heaviest. The lightest card — the Ace — is placed into the Joker packet and it instantly rises to the top. You now add the Two to the Ace and place both cards into the Joker packet — both...

Utterly Wild by Peter Duffie

The ultimate ungaffed wild card - use any deck.

The original version of this routine was called Born to be Wild (from Inspirations). Peter has enjoyed performing the original over the years, for lay people AND magicians, but the fact that he couldn't show the last card always bothered him. You were left with a face-to-face double that had to be dropped onto the deck and a triple lift executed to finish. Going back to the deck for a finish is never good! But this has now changed ...

This new version changes that. You are now left with a single court card for a clean and powerful finish. There is also...

(Benny) Ben Harris
Hoodwink by (Benny) Ben Harris

"I highly recommend this to all of you who are interested in learning a devilishly clever approach to TORN & RESTORED CARD" - Danny Orleans (Genii Magazine)

Hoodwink is based on the author's own effect, "Prime Hole Card" from 1983. It became a best-seller when re-released in 1999. Everyone was concentrating so hard on complex quarter-at-a-time restorations, that Hoodwink, with it's stunning flash restoration, seemed like a breath of fresh air.

Hoodwink is not designed to replace, or to in any way compete with, the fine crop of "quarter by quarter" restorations that are making the rounds. Instead,...

Tommaso Guglielmi
Mind Influence by Tommaso Guglielmi

Two semi-automatic ACAANs.

In the main effect, the spectator mentally moves an imagined card into the deck in an imagined position only. All this happens without the mentalist touching the cards and without knowing which card and what number the spectator has thought of.

In the second ACAAN, the spectator generates a random card and number then counts to the generated position and will find the card. All this happens without the mentalist ever touching the cards.

The two effects are very easy to perform and do not require any sleight-of-hand.

This is a really nice card transportation. It's a simple method, simple effect and with the correct patter and theatrics it can be made in to a miracle. There are many creative ways the concept of this effect could be used, it's such a versatile move. The good news is there's absolutely no palming involved!

The spectator selects and signs the back of a card, which is lost in the middle of the deck. The card is then immediately, with empty hands and no funny moves, removed from your top pocket or your wallet or practically anywhere else.

The spectator verifies the value of their card, the...
