Usually this force is described using a knife as in the Amateur Magicians' Handbook. However, anything flat that can be inserted into a deck works, for example another playing card or a business card. Steven includes several applications and finesses to this wonderful force.

This is a side steal from a spread rather than a squared up deck. It combines ideas from Ed Marlo and the deliberate steal and Jack MacMillen. You will also learn how to side steal a face up card including a cover deck turn motion which will make this completely invisible.

An incredible collection of packet tricks!

• PREDICTION GONE WILD (Cameron Francis): A great trick. A card is selected. You show four blank cards with different names of cards on them. All of a sudden all the cards have the name of the selection. At the end the selection vanishes from the deck and appears in the packet.
• BOXING ACES (Aldo Colombini): An Ace-assembly that will have their jaws dropping. Four Aces vanish from packets of cards and reappear inside the card case.
• GHOST FLIGHT (Peter Duffie): Eight double blank cards and four Queens are used. The Queens trapped between two blank cards vanish and reappear...

A sponge ball magically travels twice from the magician's hand into the spectator's sleeve.

This effect was created by Dai Vernon and was published in Rufus Steele's book The Last Word on Cards.

The deck is shuffled by a spectator. The magician removes a prediction card from the deck and places it face down on the table. The spectator creates two piles. The top card of one is turned face up. The value of that card is used to count to a card in the other pile. The card counted to is the mate of the prediction.
