Blockbuster Book Test is a movie theme book test that can be performed close-up, table hopping, in a children's show or on stage. There are several live performances followed by a full explanation of the variation principles used. In the demo video I am simply using two cards, these can very well be selected (forced) cards, the explanation video has a couple of methods for it. In this download you'll also learn the Ambience Control. It is an essential move for the in-hand two card transposition.

Pocket Riser 1.0 and Pocket Riser 2.0 have been feature creations of Ralf. These are effects he is particularly known for. A complete comedy prediction routine with a surprise finish.

A spectator is shown various words written on sheets of paper. These are folded and dropped into a bag, placed behind he spectator's back and any paper is selected - the future predicted word. On stage the magician has a large book with the word 'PREDICTION' on the cover that has been in full view all the time. Before the spectator unfolds and reveals the chosen word, the magician pages through the large format book revealing various comedy predictions. Make two cigarettes from one.

Magically and visually the filter of a cigarette splits into two. Tear the cigarette at the location of the new second filter and you now have two smaller cigarettes each with a filter. Hand one half out to share your cigarette.

Ralf Rudolph takes on the challenge to let a lighted match float. He explains in detail how to make the gimmick, and how to perform the effect. You need to perform this under somewhat dimmed lighting conditions with some distance to your audience. It is best performed off-beat when nobody expects you to perform a magic trick. For example, it has become dark and you want to light a candle. Take a box of matches, light a match, and suddenly the match floats for 2-3 seconds. Then you light the candle with it.

Have a spectator select a card (for one version it is a free choice, for a second version it has to be forced), have it signed, apparently loose it in the deck, and then you either spring the cards onto your baseball cap, or fan the cards before the cap and the previously selected card will appear to be attached to the top knob of your baseball cap.

Ralf explains how you have to gimmick the cap, and he will demonstrate several ideas and handlings of how you can perform this routine.

One can, two different drinks.

Hospitality in a can: You pour the complete contents of a can into a glass; the can is now empty. You then place a straw inside the can, and take a sip, just to make sure. In fact, the can is not empty, it now contains a completely different liquid! Pour this 'new' liquid into a glass to amaze spectators.

BONUS EFFECT

Cocktail: You turn a cocktail shaker upside down to show that it is empty. Place the lid on the shaker and start to shake it as you would if you were mixing a cocktail. You then take the cap off and start pouring two glasses of cocktail....

The spectator finds their card in an incredible way, with a stunning kicker revelation.

The jokers are given to a spectator to hold, then a card is selected. The chosen card is shuffled and lost in the deck. The cards are spread face down and the spectator freely inserts the jokers face up around any single card, isolating it from the rest. This mystery card is now turned over to reveal that, incredibly, it is their selected card. The effect could end right here, but in an unexpected finale, the jokers are turned over to reveal a jaw-dropping prediction.

The Fork on Card will impress...

Learn how to fold three beautiful cards. Included are templates and detailed video instructions. Particularly the Twist Flap is interesting, because it has a 'reveal'. You show the card which does not immediately look particularly impressive or impossible. You then lift a flap to expose a much more difficult situation that will impress everybody.

Showing that your deck is mixed and ordinary, you also show a card with a prediction written on the back. The spectator chooses a card completely at random, by rolling 1, 2 or 3 dice. You deal to their number (no force). When you reveal the prediction you have not only predicted their chosen card, but also what number they rolled on the dice.

You will need a blue and a red deck (or any two decks with matching faces but different backs) to make this yourself. No arts and craft, just a sharpie and a bit of writing. The dice are optional. You can use real dice, you can use a dice app on your...

Effect: The performer shows a video that displays various card values. A spectator mentally selects one, then mentally tears off a corner of the selected card, and that card corner appears in the phone.

To perform this effect all you need is a phone that can play back an MP4 video. This is not an app and can therefore be performed on pretty much any modern smart phone. Please note that in most cases the card corner will appear in the video that is played back. In some cases the card corner will materialize as actual card corner.

Apparently link two cards in an ad hoc impromptu appearing fashion.

Effect: You take two cards and openly tear from each two rectangular windows. This leaves a frame and a center beam in each card. Then you magically link them at the center beam. At the end you separate them again and hand out both cards as souvenirs. The cards will show no tear in the center beam or around the frame. Everybody will wonder how you were able to link them. There is no secret exchange of cards. The two cards you start with are the two cards you end with.

This effect is best done in an off-hand impromptu setting...

You show the old gag where with two folding actions a dollar bill is turned on its head. You now have the spectator sign the bill and repeat the folding actions. However, now only the front of the bill is upside down, the back is not upside down. In other words, only one side of the bill turned. How is that possible? You give the dollar bill as souvenir to the spectator who can keep this impossible bill for the rest of his life in his wallet.

Remember that this is not some fake misprinted bill. Ralf will teach you how to prepare a real genuine dollar bill for this effect. This also works...
