Matteo Filippini presents his personal study on the Francis Carlyle Homing Card.
Starting from the splendid Carlyle version, which appeared on the historical Stars Of Magic, through Roberto Giobbi's Homing Card Plus, from the second volume of CardCollege, Matteo offers his vision on this great card magic effect.
The Homing Card is certainly one of the few effects with playing cards that are well suited to different situations: close-up, parlour, TV, theatre...
The routine has been divided into several phases and analyzed down to the smallest detail. In addition some historical notes and a rich bibliography.

One contract bridge teacher's notion of how to present a written tutorial on filling out a "Fat Free" ACBL convention card. Drawn from his series of bridge lessons for today's college students who've never played cards, let alone bridge.
This is the first lesson from Giobbi's CardCollege 1 & 2 Personal Instruction. It is made available free of charge so that you can experience the style of Giobbi's teaching and decide if you want to invest in the full course.
I personally think there is no better teacher of card magic alive today. Giobbi's style can at times be detail orientated, but then again if you want to reach the higher rungs of cardmanship, or cardwomanship, you need to pay attention to the details. Giobbi will take you by the hand and lead you through what can sometimes look like an impenetrable forest of moves, sleights, and techniques that look impossible...
The next three chapters detail the three routines that were the backbone of my Houdini Lounge set.
The Trick that Lance Burton Showed Me demonstrates what happens when you live with a trick for 15 years. This is my handling and presentation for Dan Garrett’s Four Card Reiteration. I discussed this trick on one of the Very Very Close videos, but there is new work in this ebook.
Presentation for Gary Plants’s Magnetized Cards is my handling of this superb marketed effect. Many professionals have asked permission to perform this, but until now I have selfishly...
Be is the latest ebook from creative young magician Kyle MacNeill, and contains 7 commercial card effects, 2 new sleights, and one troubleshooting idea. It is 6 months in the making, and also contains a cool new principle of magic.
From the Intro:
Don’t you just love it when an idea, a spark of interest, a breakthrough just materialises in your mind, for you to pick up, expand, and stretch into something amazing? My idea was fashioned when in a Chemistry class.
One minute you are half – listening to the complex and uninteresting audio, which almost is depicted internally as a haze...
The ingenious Paul Curry, creator of 'Out Of This World' was also responsible for a number of other timely favourites - 'Open Prediction' being a standout and attracting variations a-plenty from card experts everywhere.
Ian Baxter has fashioned a particularly appealing version of this classic, written in his inimitable style and now available in an easy-to-read manuscript - totally impromptu, simple to perform, no fakes, stranger cards, or hidden accessories. Skills need are minimal. A delight indeed!
This is my favorite magic book. The reason for this is that it was a groundbreaking book at the time it appeared and its contents is excellent. It was the first magic book that had photos instead of drawings or engravings throughout. And the contents is fantastic. It is one of the few books with a large chapter on chapeaugraphy. Add to this great chapters on shadowgraphy, plate spinning and paper folding. A large part is devoted to card magic, magic with coins, balls, and handkerchiefs, and much much more. If I would have to select one book this would be it. It is a book not many people...
