This is an impromptu and propless mentalism routine which is a lot of fun to do. It works best in a one-on-one situation where you are performing to a new acquaintance whom you have met for the very first time.

With this routine you prove to the participant that her mobile number and her birth year (both of which you have no way of knowing since you met the participant for the very first time just then) are somehow associated in a mysterious way. The participant will be utterly amazed with this unexpected revelation.

A card trick that is flashy and plays big, it is suitable for parlor or stage and requires no skill.

Four Queens are each seen in four glass tumblers facing outward. Each Queen is then turned back outward and returned to its glass. Three indifferent cards are placed in each glass with the first three Queens. The fourth Queen is left by herself in the fourth glass.

An unexplored "classic": this has been for me, for many years, the "Australian shuffle". I learned it as a young man from Aldo Colombini, who often included it in his impromptu effects; later I studied John Scarne (and his wonderful idea in Phone Miracle, which we will comment on together later) and Max Maven.

Then I read Nick Conticello, and a new world opened up: I discovered that all the greats of card magic have tried their hand at the Australian deal; Nick, however, made me wonder a bit more: today I don't think there is more space to invent, but a lot to develop new routines, putting together various principles.
