From the inside cover:
Magical Masterpieces is no mere fanciful title. It is an apt description of a selection from the accumulated repertoire of a practical magician whose outstanding characteristic is the painstaking perfection and stamp of individuality of all his productions. It is safe to say that if a new book of magic provides only one workable and suitable addition to the reader's store it is a sound investment. The magician... ★★★★★ $9 Mental Magic with CardsJean Hugard ... how it may be done by using many of the well-established principles of card conjuring: By forcing a spectator to think of a given card; by using a "key card"; by marking a card with a pin or finger-nail; by employing a prearranged pack, with either partial or complete "set-up"; by calling into one's service such devices as the "one-way deck," the "forcing deck," the "marked-back deck"; and by utilizing a bit of carbon paper, a small mirror, and other "fakes" with which most magicians are familiar. He also explains the use of "talking" and "silent" codes which enable the performer to transmit... ★★★★★ $29 Chap's ScrapbookFranklin M. ★★★★★ $10 Devious DatesPeter Duffie Use any pocket diary. Completely self-working. No reset.
Effect: To begin, you hand a spectator your diary for examination - you point out that each day in the diary has the name of a playing card entered against it. This he can verify as he studies the diary, before putting it in his pocket. (Note: it doesn't need to be playing cards - you can fill the diary with anything you desire - people's names, phone numbers, words, symbols, etc.)
Next you bring out six blank business cards. You write something on one of the cards, without showing it to the audience. This card is left on the table... ★★★★★ $8 Meltdown CardboxAndrew Loh ... - ...No gimmicks or duplicates.
- It's impromptu and can be performed at any time.
- The deck can be borrowed - visual magic at its best.
This is professionally illustrated which is quite rare in the days of quick shot digital cameras.
I performed your trick for a few friends last night and it went really well. Excellent one! - Peter Duffie
I performed this three times over the weekend and it went very well! Everyone really loves the moment where the card visibly appears after the box is "thumped" out. That is a very clever touch and it really makes the whole routine stronger! - Shannon Clark

★★★★★ $35 Al Mann LectureAl Mann This DVD is a live recorded lecture Al Mann gave in Vienna, Austria, at the 1. Wiener Zaubertheater, on November 25th 1984. To my knowledge, this is the only footage available today showing Al Mann in action. The quality is remarkably good for a live unscripted recording from a single camera from the 80s. It runs for a bit over 1 hour and 40 minutes.
It is a wonderful video to watch and see Al in action, as well as pick up a number of tips and several excellent routines. He also explains a fantastic card force he credits to Robert Parrish. This force is so fair and completely absent of any sleight-of-hand,... ★★★★★ $4 Tricks with HaresUlysses Frederick Grant ... English isle and the King ordered an investigation. The royal physicians could find no proof to substantiate the woman’s story and, finally, a servant admitted obtaining the rabbits for her.
England buzzed with talk of the hoax for days and finally, an alert conjurer got a brilliant idea. At one of his performances, he showed a top hat empty, rolled his eyes suggestively, and, with a sly smile, pulled a live rabbit from the hat. The audience, thoroughly familiar with the current topic of conversation, responded instantaneously. This, it is told, is where all rabbit productions originated.

Although this episode does contain a preview, it is the last episode of Chandu the Magician known to exist and seems to be the last episode produced.... $14.95 The Duffie DiaryPeter Duffie This is a very commercial, practical, and effective diary effect. (Works with any diary.)
You begin by shuffling a deck and placing it on the table. You never touch the deck again. You now give the spectator your pocket diary which he may examine before placing it in his pocket. You never touch the diary again.
The spectator will now create a random date. He cuts the deck – this is a free cut – and turns over the card cut to. The value of this card will represent the month. This can truly be any value. He counts the cards that he cut – this will represent the day. This can truly... ★★★★★ $5 The Sphinx Volume 2 (Mar 1903 - Feb 1904)Inez Vernelo

★★★★★ $4 Out of this WorldPaul Curry Paul Curry invented this effect when he was just 25 years old. It is one of the most well known and probably most often performed card effects today. A classic through and through. An incredibly strong effect paired with a most simple method. You can't find much better card tricks.
The effect as Curry describes it:
The performer shuffles a pack of cards and starts to deal them into two piles - the red cards in one pile, the blacks in the other. After a few cards have been dealt into each pile the deal is stopped and the performer explains that were he to continue to deal in this manner... $25 Stuff: A collection of Original MagicEric Mason ... - ...
