Magic and its Mysteries

J. Dazley Theobald
Magic and its Mysteries by J. Dazley Theobald

From the preface:

In the following pages it has been my aim to give such plain and practical instructions, as shall enable the amateur conjurer to perform with confidence and success. In the limits of a book of this size, it is impossible to describe more than one-tenth of the various tricks in modern magic in vogue at the present day, and I have therefore carefully excluded the larger professional apparatus, such as are used only on the public stage, believing that what is most needed is a sound treatise on drawing-room magic, and I trust in the following pages the reader will find such...

Magic as a Hobby

Bruce Elliott
Magic as a Hobby by Bruce Elliott

Tricks for amateur performers.

Excerpt from the foreword by Orson Welles:

It is entirely possible that this excellent book should never have been published - not like this; anyway, not for general sale.

There are two kinds of magic books, you know. The kind they give away with the box top off a breakfast cereal, and this kind of book, which tells explicitly and with pictures - so the reader can really get the hang of them - valuable secrets of professional magic. In brief, I'm sorry that this one is so very good but I'd be honestly sorrier if it were bad.

At the outset it should...

Magic Around the World

Jim Kleefeld
Magic Around the World by Jim Kleefeld

This complete show is Jim's geography-themed program performed for libraries all over Ohio and is aimed at children. It uses several standard props, some commercial tricks no longer made, but which may be available on used lists, and a couple of original effects especially created. The goal in this show was to give audiences a wide range of surprising magic routines that each involved a separate country and culture. Jim deliberately chose old and new tricks, and intermixed them with old and new cultures to give some sense of current world situations as well as some historical perspective. ...

Here is a practical and fascinating ebook which shows you how to master simple and complex conjuring tricks for your own pleasure and the entertainment of your friends. Mussey stresses the proper presentation of magic stunts and tricks, rather than the mere mechanics. Topic: Magic Wand

The Magic Wand was first published in September 1910 and continued for 256 issues until December of 1957. It began as a monthly magazine and after a decade it was published quarterly. It was edited by George Munro who was succeeded by George Armstrong. It is rare and very hard to find a complete run. The most valuable issues are those containing the serial publication of The Annals of Conjuring.

Topic: Magic Menu

The Magic Menu was the brain child of Jim Sisti and began publication with the September/October 1990 issue. It appeared for 11 years and was discontinued. In 2009 Jim Sisti revived The Magic Menu, but only four more issues appeared until it was closed down for good.

The Magic Menu was the only periodical dedicated to performing magic at restaurants, bars and other night spots.
