You ask the spectator to blindfold you, or you turn around so that you can't see anything that the spectator is doing. You really do not see anything! You ask the spectator to create 5 piles of 10 cards each, so that 50 cards are in play. You tell her to make sure that there are 5 cards face-up and 5 cards face-down in each of those 10 piles. They can be in ANY order, and she is to do all of this ordering in ANY way she wants, without telling you (and, of course, you can't see anything that she is doing).

You then let her know that you are going to separate each pile of 10 cards blindfolded...

This is a really funny murder mystery routine. The zippered "case" (used to house everything) is "re-opened" and the possible weapons and five laminated clue-cards are removed. With your help, the spectator now deduces which of the weapons was used. Equivo-Lock is David's version of Seven Keys to Baldpate by Annemann. An ungimmicked padlock and seven keys are given to a spectator. The spectator tries all seven keys and finds out that none of the keys will open the lock. The performer now produces an eighth key, which does open the lock. The spectator now relocks the padlock, and the keys are placed into a wine glass. The keys are then mixed. The spectator now uses her powers of intuition to eliminate all but one of the eight keys. The selected key is tried in the lock and the lock opens!

The lock is not gimmicked and maybe completely examined....

This is a conceptual breakthrough for improving the old and trusted magician's choice or equivoque.

Equirock is a simple technique to force one of three items. As a direct, ONE STEP force, it is almost impossible for the spectator to backtrack and thereby discover the method.
