This is an important improvement of the classic Kruskal principle. Think about this: The spectator can shuffle the deck and you still know exactly where the count will end!

This ebook contains a new principle on Kruskal-counting and illustrates the principle with two effects. The first effect A Bumblebee’s Flight will lead the spectator’s dealing sequence invariably to a known/predicted card, even after a shuffle by the spectator. Effect:

You produce a deck of cards and hand it to a spectator. (You will not touch it or see it any more). The spectator shuffles the deck, selects a card, folds it and puts a rubber band or a paper clip tight around it. Despite these lab conditions, you try to guess their card! And believe it or not, you will always succeed. Their card can be given back as a souvenir. It does...

Distorted Siblings combines the best aspects of several tricks by John Bannon, Max Maven, and Aldo Colombini. The routine is this:

A packet of red-backed cards and a packet of blue-backed cards are placed face-down on the table. It is explained that each packet contains the four kings and that one in each packet is face-up as a prediction. Two spectators each name a king. The named kings are in fact the face up kings. The kings are turned face down and it is shown that each king is in their opposite packets.

Each king is then placed back into its own packet. All four blue cards are together as are the red cards,...

The spectator selects, remembers, and returns a card to the deck. Without any unnecessary handling the performer counts down to its value, then spells the suit. The selected card is turned over at the end of this counting/spelling sequence.

Based on a trick by Frederick Mosteller in 1943 that used two decks. This is a streamlined and more commercial one deck version.

The methods explained in this manuscript involve cutting a deck to ostensibly change its order. They are semi-automatic because minimal dexterity is required. Otherwise they are subtle in seductive ways and all of them are completely or partially false.

The false cut triggering this manuscript is Jay Ose's False Cut that was auspiciously introduced to magicians by Harry Lorayne. This false cut eventually made its way into the repertoires of card specialists, but early on it was primarily meant to be easily and quickly performed after false shuffling. • Vivace: You deal the Kings into four packets and they assemble in one packet. On top of each pile the four Aces appear.
• Aria: An Ace-Assembly that's easy to perform, direct and to-the-point, with a magical and surprising climax.
• Sarabanda: The two black Kings find two selected cards from a deck cut into three piles by a spectator.

This effect was created by Bruce Cervon who gave Aldo permission to teach and release it. It is a wonderfully simple and unique poker deal demonstration that never has to be reset, because at the end of the routine the deck is ready for a repeat - ideal for table hoppers. Uses a regular deck of cards with an additional set of aces.

Aldo also teaches a number of easy false cuts and shuffles which you can use in combination with this demonstration, but they are not necessary. With a good presentation this can be just as effective as other story routines, such as "Sam and Moe" or "Sam and the Bellhop",...
