This is Michael Close's version of the famous 'card warp' theme where a card turns inside out while being pushed through a bill.

This effect is also taught on Michael Close Signature Effects.

A wonderful card routine with a musically themed presentation. You first produce the four Aces. The Aces capture the four Kings, and after an interlude where the Aces and Kings change place, all eight cards change to eight Jokers.

This effect is also taught on Michael Close Signature Effects.

A cursed card the Jack of Diamonds is folded into an origami frog. Spectator chooses a card from the deck, say the Seven of Clubs. The frog finds the Seven of Clubs in the deck. The climax is the transposition of the two cards. The Seven of Clubs turns into the Jack of Diamonds, and when the origami frog is unfolded it is the Seven of Clubs.

OCD and Other Effects is a collection of seven card routines for magicians and mentalists that explore some of the possibilities of a mathematical principle designated The StayCard Principle.

[While the principle is not new, others have made use of it before, this is the first systematic treatment and explanation of it.]

OCD

The magician talks about how he was helped to conquer his OCD (Obsessive Cereal Disorder). He explains his childhood ritual for deciding which breakfast cereal to eat each morning. Cards made from fourteen breakfast cereal packets are mixed in a formalised dealing procedure. Despite the spectator deciding how the dealing should proceed, the cards correctly predict...

A deck of cards is given to a spectator to shuffle, and she's asked to silently think of any number between 1 and 52. The performer then asks the spectator to freely select a card and remember it.

At no time during the effect does the performer know the spectator's number or the value of the chosen card. He briefly shuffles the deck, asks the spectator to hold out her hand, and places the face down deck on her palm. The spectator then deals cards, one by one face down, to her chosen number.

She then turns this card face up. It's her chosen card.

This effect is 100% impromptu. Any deck...

All routines in this ebook are card effects and can be performed with a regular deck of cards. Only for one effect will you need an additional regular card. Five effects are totally impromptu and can be performed with a borrowed pack of cards.

The spectator names any number of hands, any rank of poker hand he wants, and which player should get the named hand. The performer states that he will deal the best hand of the chosen rank, and he fulfills the spectator's request. Everything from a genuinely shuffled deck. No palms, no magnets. Just good old, gluten-free card sharping.

The ace through 10 of Diamonds are inserted into the pack, each card at a different location. The deck is shuffled and then Michael produces each card one by one in different ways using pop out moves, cuts, and other flourishes.

This is an improvement of an effect popularized by Eddie Fechter. However Eddie produced each card the same way using the gymnastic ace production from the Paul LePaul book.

Mickey Mace has released another one of his favorite effects. In The Really, Really Perfect Blackjack Deal, the performer speaks of the proliferation of casino gaming across the US, and mentions how, with a bit of magical help, anyone in the audience can become an expert blackjack dealer.

A volunteer comes forward and is handed a stack of 7 or 8 casino chips. The performer takes a deck of cards and removes four cards placing them face down in a row. The volunteer is then asked to place four of the eight chips in a row next to the four face-down cards – four bets, for four hands of blackjack....

Would you like to control the physical actions of your spectator, and in the process make an impossible prediction? The beauty of this particular effect is that it is absolutely hands-off and 100% fair. The performer DOES NOT touch the cards once the effect begins.
